This took me longer than expected. A video for Detective Badd's future as he reminisces about the past. I ended up tying him up with Lana, but I believe their pasts fit together, given how they were both detectives who resorted to forgery.

Gant's part is a very good explanation as to why Badd was never able to climb the ranks within the police, despite being one of the best detectives.
As for Lana, I think the reason she's so easy to fit into any situation is because she's pretty much a blank canvas.
Don't get me wrong! It's just that apart from loving her sister and wanting to do the right thing but not being able to, what other trait does Lana have?
Lana is a piece of clay but with a lot of potential, which can be molded into whatever one wants.
Damn you're right. Time for the lolers to mold Lana into the character she always deserved to be then 😁
badd's story is really tragic if you think about it. Especially for not being a victim or an accused.
I LOVE this; makes Tyrell Badd even more tragic than he already is. Tying all your previous videos together with Gant and Lana was a genius move

Fr tho, Detective Badd is an interesting character, and he gets like, shafted in AAI2. It's an oof moment.

I always felt that they shoehorned Badd in AAI2 because they needed a detective from 20 years ago, and he was the only one in service then. Which helps reduce the costs of introducing a new character (we never even got to see Rip Lacer for example xD)
Incredible as always. I love seeing things like Byrne's murder actually taking place, and the conversation that leads to it... which sounds weirder than I intend for it to be, but there it is.
I just mean that it squeezes out that extra juice of emotion and drama that was otherwise left to our imagination in canon. You've carved out an incredible niche doing this stuff.

Ofc Yew's appearance was amazing, I don't think I can ever get tired of her sarcastic/funny remarks, and then her bursting into laughter
And the ending!! I loved it, the music choice couldn't have been better, literal chills!!
I wouldn't be surprised if Calisto Yew somehow managed to get killed because some people are annoyed by her laughter. 😁
Also, great to see that Damon Gant was already the manipulative Mastermind when he was younger and didn't just take the opportunity from SL-9. 👍 Srsly, if the Fey Clan wasn't hyped so much in the Trilogy, Gant would have been a great final boss in 3-5 orchestrating all murder in the previous cases. 😆 (And maybe SoJ would have been made into a way better Game instead of recycling the OP female main villain, a still childish Maya and the whole Spirit Channeling thing).
I could very well imagine a "reunion of the elderly mob": Manfred von Karma, Gant & Aristotle Means meet in prison, while Bruto Cadaverini escapes thanks to his secret agents Victor Kudo and Wendy Oldbag 😂
Furio tigre would certainly get in trouble if he got annoyed with calisto yew's laughter
This was a great video. Tyrell Badd is honestly one of the most well-written characters of the first Investigations game despite only appearing in 2 cases. His feelings towards the law being affected by both criminals and the corrupt individuals in charge of the system honestly makes so much sense, only to then be changed after he saw how Edgeworth and the others managed to take down the smuggling ring without using dirty methods. Great video. Also loved how you used Lana and that callback to the earlier video with Gant (who is another character I love seeing due to him being one of my favorite characters of the trilogy cases).
Badd really lives up this his name by being a badass.

Am I the only one who wants to see Gumshoe become Chief of Detectives someday? It'd bring him back into the limelight in a big way while progressing his character arc, and even explain his absence through the Apollo Justice trilogy.
Well, maybe making every "good" member of the original Phoenix Wright game into someone super important could cause oversaturation - we already got Edgeworth as Chief Prosecutor, Maya as Master of Kurain, Phoenix as the Turnabout Terror and boss of a bunch of super lawyers, so making Gumshoe police Chief too might start making a pattern or something.
I dunno, I prefer Gumshoe as the respected veteran detective like detective Badd was
@debastiansebeste Fair enough. Still, after what happened to Badd, the SL-9 detectives, and Fulbright, I figure he'd want to work towards that promotion so he could make the police force just a little safer.
To clarify, I said I'd like for Gumshoe to be the new Chief of *Detectives,* not of Police. I think he'd want to keep working closely with his fellow detectives.

Not gonna lie I kinda expected to see more scene time between Gumshoe and Tyrell and the way he said "pops" to Tyrell Oh boy its like Gumshoe is Badd's son :D
I ended up not having much for them to tell each other, because they had already given a very full and solid goodbye in the game. It felt I would be sort of exaggerating by adding even more :/
@@debastiansebeste still it would be nice to see Gumshoe visiting Badd in detention center least once a week just like how Katherine Hall visits Jeffrey Master everyday cause after literally Gumshoe saying "Pops" to Badd Im certain hr would visits him once week or day :D and also perhaps where a scene Gumshoe tells Badd about how Edgeworth solved the IS-7 to later Edgeworth losing his badge to how Gumshoe followed his own way to having character Development during episode 5 of AAI2

Yeah given his story and relation to Kay, I was disappointed we never ever got to even see him other than as a dead body. Byrne deserved better

I would have long made a video about Blackquill's trial if someone had made custom sprites from when he was young (without the white hair streak and black eyes :( )

Im liking these custom sprites that keep popping up. Specially Gregory Edgeworth without the coat or Gant in his prime
If I were tbh, Gregory's is a cutscene from investigations 2 during the reminiscence of his court battle against Von Karma for Jeffrey Master
But Gant yeah, I shed sweat and blood to make him a few months ago xD

To be honest, I have posted several vids there. They generally tend to get completely ignored, and one time I was also attacked by an angry ripper, so I tend to avoid that sub now xD (unless I'm posting the vids in the wrong channel, I've tried posting them in the fanworks one)

Despite his bs, Gant was still trying to fight crime. If he was connected it'd probably have been him trying to forge evidence against Manny Coachen and Calisto Yew or something

Why is gumshoe referring to Badd as ‘pops’. Like are they related in some way? Or is it just a friendly nickname?
Gumshoe did call Badd pops in the game, but it was entirely in a friendly manner of referring to a veteran colleague. Franziska even called him out for calling Badd pops, iirc she told him "what is this, a buddy cop show" or something like that

Hopefully not long. After all his murder of Misty Fey was sort of self defense. Diego did try to incriminate himself by saying in front of the judge that he possibly wanted it to happen like that in order to have revenge against Phoenix and Dahlia (making it second degree murder - it wasn't premeditated but it was with malicious intent).
If the judge hopefully ignores Diego's self accusations, I don't think he should get more than 5 years. As long as he doesn't commit suicide in prison, of course 😥

@@debastiansebeste 5 years seem about right, even though 7 years would fit better in the canon, bcs his rival/kind of only friend Phoenix is disbarred, and he would be able to see through Kristoph's true colors in court, but lacking any decisive proof. Remembering his case of Glen Elg, Godot contacted Ms. Basil, and asked MIles Edgeworth to fund her developing the MASON System (I love headcanon). 😁
While he did it *mainly* to protect Maya, he admitted that the hatred for Dahlia got him, so he couldn't plea to a justified killing.
Here in Germany, it would probably be a case of manslaughter. While the basic length of punishment is set from 5 - 15 years, in "less severe cases" (Idk if in Jurist English is another term for this), it's between 1 - 5 years, meaning even a probation could be possible, as long the sentence doesn't surpass 2 years. I personally would think it was a less severe killing, bcs his own motivation just mixed in while he actually tried to save Maya.
(But considering Miles almost was convicted for *accidently* shooting Gregory at the age of *9* , maybe Japan has some laws that seem crazy towards Europeans. 😆)

HOLD IT! I see you have assumed Godot wasn't given the death penalty, or that at least, it hadn't been carried out at this point in time. I actually saw a fan video where Godot defended himself in his own trial. Do you have any intentions on making something like that the way you reckon it would have occurred?
If I were to be honest, it does sound like an interesting idea. But on a reverse. With Godot accusing himself and the prosecutor (e.g. Edgeworth) arguing that it was self defense.
It's not a bad idea at all, we'll look into it in the future I guess
