- We finally finished with the basement craft room project! Oh my goodness it was a huge job but so worth it in the end. I still have some tweaking to do but it just seems so much more manageable now. I feel much more organized & love my new space. I hope you enjoy the tour & it sparks your creativity. A little about me…
I live down the Jersey Shore & have a crafting studio tucked inside my 1920’s Tudor home. I have always been a #grannychic #cottagecore kind of girl, collecting & decorating with all my vintage finds from flea markets, estate sales & thrifting. Just a vintage soul.
I have been crafting since the 1980’s & have never stopped. I’ve done countless craft shows & found etsy in 2008. I reinvented my on line presence in 2018 & changed my name to Creative girl Vintage.
I like to keep the vintage vibe going when I am crafting, from Vintage assemblages to holiday projects. Crafting for the holidays is my favorite & my video tutorials usually always feature holiday ornament projects & seasonal themes.

New subscriber from California. Your happy place is amazing. Your husband did an amazing job, you’re so blessed to have someone that takes an interest in what you do. I had a brother named Barry, he passed away 4 yrs. ago. I would be in 7th heaven if I was in your craft space to look at all your vintage goodness. This is so up my alley. I have a lot of dolls and trinkets, nic-nacs, collectibles, etc. Most of them are in curio cabinets throughout my house or on bookshelves. My dressers in my room houses lots of vintage things. Most of them are from my childhood, my moms and my grandma who was born in 1880. When my grandma passed away back in the early 70’s, she was 91, she left me all of her old greeting cards and post cards. She was from Germany so some of them are handwritten in German which I have no idea what they say. I also got all her buttons and I just added my moms to the collection when she passed away. I also got a huge amount of my grandmas old marbles and I have them in an old gum ball machine. My mom and grandma were quilters and when my mom passed away I inherited all of their quilts and crochet things like tons of doilies and more. I have them in two huge cedar chests. I could go on and on about all my vintage collection. My craft room is small so I don’t really have any room to decorate other than just my supplies. When my son moved away from home 5 yrs. ago I turned his room into my overflow craft room. It’s right across the hall from my craft room. I have bookcases all around the room for craft items that aren’t used all the time, like seasonal etc. My son collected old vintage cameras and he left all of them so they’re still displayed in there. I love them. I told my son that after I’m gone he better not throw all these things away or I’ll haunt him. Lol. I have it set up in a trust that he’s to have an estate sale.

Oh my goodness....Bear (if I may call him that) is definitely wonderful. I think it is so awesome when our partners embrace our love for crafting. Your space is just charming. I look at it as industrial vintage...those pipes and things add a bit of charm to all the lovely laces and vintage goodies you have. I think many of us crafters tend to "over buy" I know I do. And you are correct...having so much can be a hinderance. I aspire to one day downsize all my stuff so I can enjoy what I have. Thanks for sharing.

I absolutely love your space, you have quite an eye for vintage goodies. I love how so many sentences start with "we found this on the curb" and how the sentences end with "it makes me smile". Thats the best way to live! At first I thought maybe the lighting was off, then when you said the cabinet color was misty lavender I lit up!! Everything is so pretty.

Jersey Girl here- just found your channel. Your room holds some great childhood memories of mine. My Dad read Poe to me every night. He was so proud I could recite (not quite read but recite from memory) The Raven. The doll that was $2 at a garage sale was very popular for party favors or centerpieces. I always wanted a party that would have those at it. One of my all time favorite memories is sitting on my parents' bed- perfectly made with a chenille and satin bedspread - sifting through my Mom's jewelry box. Holding and admiring each piece carefully. Thanks for the memories! I loved your your. (I am 60 years old BTW so my memories are from the late 60s early 70s) 😊

Since my parents die The only thing that helps me through the process is crafting for me it's like relaxing. I do have to buy a lot of stuff but little by little I've been buying things to craft. It's a good thing. Crafting it really helps me

I’ve just moved to a 1880 Victorian home, I am deeply in love with it, but also the crawl space pump, and I am in Canada, so winter here is oil heating as our amps do not let us heat with electricity, but now, the government is prohibiting oil heating! But I adore my home, my garden, my kitchen and sewing room!

OMG, I think we may have been separated at birth! There are no words to tell you a) how much I adore this space and b) how similar to my esthetic this is - really the main difference is my space is about a quarter of yours...you have inspired me to get even more organized and crafty with my little glass loft, thank you! This is the first video of yours that I've ever seen and it's exactly what I need. I got so excited when you said that you were working in an old basement because I'm looking to buy a home and could very well end up with "an old basement" just like yours. I probably won't have a ton of money to put into the new craft room so I was really happy to find this video.
Until you said you and your husband tore into it and "built you a craft room". I was sad for a minute because I was afraid you had really BUILT a new room instead of working with what you have... I was SO SO happy when the first image popped up and you hadn't built an entirely new room--- I love it!
I too like to use odds and ends and bits and pieces... An old dresser or table to me is much more fun than brand new cabinets from IKEA 😉. (I'm sure some IKEA will find its way into the new room - I really need some flat files lol. I'm just happier when I have things around me that have a story and a history to them.)

oh my goodness , I Love the use of vintage chest of drawers , i use vintage silverware for my drawer pulls, and i use an old farm table for my sewing area as well I knew i was cut from the same cloth as you, lol can not wait to see your paper dolls , you are so inspiring , xo

My craft room challenges are my angled attic walls which leave me with little to none vertical storage or areas to hang art in. I have been contemplating a basement redo.
