Hi Blaine! How about extending this tutorial to demonstrate how to deal with split games after copying? Many of the other tutorials that I've looked thru seem to be based on the assumption that the user already understands why the games split in the first place, and they also seem to start instruction from the Split 4G operation. Looking at the comments, there appears to be a number of PS3 holdouts that are lost upon this operation.
You have such a wonderful way of presenting your tutorials so that the user can complete them with great ease!

It's easy man, I have two ways.
If you playing off a USB:
Put the files on a fat 32 format usb, enable hen, enter multiman, then go over to file manager, go to ps3 root, then go to dev usb 00, then it will show all your game files there. Open a certain game file that you want to play, go into the ps3 game folder, open the usdir folder, locate the eboot. Bin file, double tap x, then it's gonna verify data and you'll be taken out of multiman, in the ps3 game scree you will see a CD pop up. That's your booted game.
If you have a ton of space and want to play off the ps3 hdd:
Copy the files and all, enable hen, multiman, file manager, ps3 root, devusb00, press x once on your game folder and then circle and click copy. Then go back with the three dots on top, then into devhdd00, then into GAMES folder, then circle then hit paste, confirm and then the files will copy to hdd.

Hi Blaine! Got another useful question... Some of the games that I've copied to an EDD, have split. I know why this happens, but suppose that I just leave it that way. Are you able to tell me if that'll be a long-term problem with game play?

Dose it makes a diffrence in load times while running the disc from the hdd/ssd and then installing the game from the in game menu, for those games that supports it vs not installing?
When i do this with CoD mw3 the file ends up split how do I solve this?
How does it work when you want to install an Add-on? For instance that AC revelations disc also has AC1 on it, can you install that AC1 via Multiman as well? Or how about DLC that came as seperate installs on disc with certain releases like the Bioshock Infinite complete edition?

Just a general question, what would be the difference between juct copying the dice by pressing the triangle button or going to the game options pressing square button? I've never copied my game disc before.

Did u unzip the .7z file? After u extract it, it should show the ISO.

Hi Blaine, great tutorials. On a PS3 with hen, I get a black screen when launching multiman. It doesn't happen everytime but often enough. I then have to unplug the console to get it to shut down. This doesn't happen on my PS3 CFW. Any ideas ?

Quick question. The only option for me to install the game is if I have a USB device hooked up. I do not see an option to install directly to the PS3 hard drive. When I look the icon does not say disc it says HDD. How do I set up the option to directly install discs to the PS3 internal hard drive through multi-man?

Hi Blaine! Do you have any advice about overcoming aborted copy attempts? I'm copying my games to a 1TB EDD, and although the process has worked well, I do have a couple of titles that have aborted about 75% of the way through. This happens when I copy to the EDD, or the HDD. Appreciate the tutorials!
how do i format an EDD to work with the jailbroken PS3? I want to get the most out of this system and have access to backups of almost every title!
@@AT-ku5jp Hi Adam! The process of formatting an EDD is not a difficult one at all. If you own a Mac, then you can use the native Disk Utility to do so. This is how I formatted my 1TB EDD that I use for my PS3. If you have this option, then it's the best way to go, in my opinion. The disk utility can be found in the utilities folder in mission control.
If you have a Windows PC, then it also has a native tool that will also do the same thing, but it will only format an EDD no bigger than 32 gb. In this case, all you will need to do is plug the drive into the PC, and right click on the drive in Explorer. Select format. Remember though, that it won't do this for drives bigger than 32 gb.
In this case, you'll need to download a separate application that will allow you to do this on Windows. There are plenty of free apps available... GUIFormat being one of them. Google is your friend for this search. There's also a wealth of videos on YT that show you how to do this.

Hello, can you help with something? I've copied my game to the hard drive, and it's there for sure. But whenever I go into the "game" folder in the OS, the folder for it (BLUS30591, COD: BO1) doesn't appear in the directory, only games that have been on the hard drive. Can anyone help?

mm basically mounts the game, and the system believes the disc is inserted. How would you make it that the game is "installed" on the system instead of it being a virtual disc?
I guess you have to go with the PSN version of a game when it exists. Otherwise I suppose you're out of luck since the game itself must probably support it.
I've been trying to figure that out as well. Seems inconvenient to have to go into mm just to load a game.

Blaine, I have a 2nd PS3 that has a bad Bluray drive. Everything else works. Right now I have it on latest official firmware and nothing else on it. Factory state I guess. Any ideas how I can mod it? I can get it from USB to HDD by getting it from Vimms Lair and then copying it though file manager to Multiman. But then it will NOT show up in the XMB when I scan it. And it'll ONLY load from the EBOOT.BIN within the actual file.
