Unfortunately I’ve had lost / gone through many jobs because of it and it’s effecting my living situation now😞 I’ve always talked and brought it to their attention and no one has ever been supportive or helpful.
    Thank you for this video.

100% agree with conversation with your boss at work. Like you I have sat down and told them about my Crohn’s and worked out a plan which means I can be the best version of me at works which has lead to less stress which helps.

I find being open and honest is the best. So grateful that I have been able to have a plan that works best for me

I actually was always honest about my crohns from the start in my current post and my manager was so supportive. The arranged parking for me and ensured they were supporting me the best they could. I still work in the same place but in a different department and although my new manager isnt as knowledgeable about IBD they're really supportive especially this year which has been bad for me. They allowed me to reduce my hours, and take different break times if needed. I'm currently off and we arranged cover for me because I was open with them. Which has benefited them and made me feel more comfortable about not being there. I'm not great at being off. Thankfully my occ health is also very supportive and talk me off the ledge quite often. I cant wait to go back to work.

So happy to hear that you have supportive managers Eve. It really can make the world of difference knowing that they are doing their best to make you feel part of the team. I find that to be the best way to get the best out of someone when at work. The more they feel valued the better they perform and enjoy work. Sorry to hear this year has been a bit rough but I can totally relate to that

Working in healthcare is very rewarding but very busy so getting a break isn't always guarenteed :)
