@@ohms2754 because a Lefty pitcher standing at the mound can see first base in front of his face as opposed to behind his back. This makes it much easier for the pitcher to notice and pick off stealing runners.

Listening to athletes speculate on physics never fails to be amusing, and yet somehow still informative.
I was a lefty QB on my JV, team, yea it’s just high school JV haha whatever, but my teammates always said my deep throws had more distance in them than what they initially looked like. I had around 4-5, 40-45 yard bombs that went for TDs. Was backup on varsity.
Fun times but can’t dwell on them, have to look toward the present and future.
I’m at a cross roads cos I was left handed and when I was playing QB I obviously threw left handed but my receivers couldn’t catch my passes and since being left handed was so rare anyways my grandpa who taught me everything ik about football taught me how to be right handed. So now I’m both but I prefer to use my right cos it’s easier on everyone else😂

I remember years back when Tim Tebow was a rookie, a NFL analyst said that lefty QB’s are unorthodoxed and are more difficult to train/coach
The best pass rusher is most often put in the Right End position.
So, some might see an advantage in that, but for a leftie, it means your seeing and 'feeling' the rush sooner.
That's why Left End's like Trace Armstrong get so many hurries.

I’m a lefty and I try to embrace it. It’s odd for the receivers but I try my best
I always assumed that because of how damn fast and hard NFL QBs can throw on top of receivers literally playing their entire life with a right handed QB, it has to be a big change for catchers to catch a ball at such a high velocity spinning the other direction

I think a lot of it boils down to how you’re taught, I’m left handed, but I was never taught to use it, despite it being much more natural

Biggest reason is it changes how your tackles block. Strongside becomes the blindside. Can't find many RT's that have the flexibility and speed to block blindside.
