      I dont think it could take part on the Windwaker timeline, because the Zora and Gorons were wiped out, or the Gorons at the very least. The Defeated Timeline is the more likely one, where Link maybe didnt actually die in his fight against Ganon and was instead sealed away for later when he could try to fight him again 100 years later.

    4:58 - I thought Skyward Sword was a great game, but lacked a lot of elements that make you feel like a hero. In 3D Zeldas, Link usually goes through dungeons to rescue someone or save a village. In Skyward Sword it was almost always specifically to get a McGuffin. This is why I thought the game fell flat as a Zelda title.

    • @christianmh9549
      @christianmh9549 Před 7 lety +8

      In SS you go through the trials to reunite with Zelda! They specifically developed their romance before she was taken away and went more in their characterization together as childhood friends for that very purpose...

    • @AlexanderHarris
      @AlexanderHarris Před 7 lety +1

      Christian MH - True, but I didn't feel like that was quite enough. It worked as an overarching goal, but on a level-to-level basis it didn't work for me. If my memory serves me correctly, wasn't Zelda basically fine for the first half of the game? So fine in fact, that she and Impa were completing dungeons before you.

    • @christianmh9549
      @christianmh9549 Před 7 lety +1

      Not until Impa rescued her, and then when you finally can reunite with her Impa tells you that you failed to protect and doesn't allow you to reunite with her. Then the next again you lose her when they have to escape through the portal... you are always chasing behind her...
      For me she clicked instantly and since i did cared about her that was enough... like she explains later on...

    7:10 - Yeah, the Success timeline is the one that leads to "Wind Waker" and its connected games ("Spirit Tracks", for instance). The rationale there is that when Link went back in time to his child self, he ceased to exist within THAT timeline anymore, so when Ganon(dorf) returned and people prayed for the "Hero of Time", he never showed; thus, the gods of Hyrule flooded the world to keep Ganondorf at bay.
    Also, "Twilight Princess" I believe is set in the Child Link timeline, where he was brought back after defeating Ganon in OOT - this is both why Ganondorf does not seem to recognise or at least acknowledge Link (this being a Ganondorf who was stopped much sooner and thus didn't become Link's adversary on a personal level), and why the shade implied to be the Hero of time exists (presumably he/it is an aftereffect of him travelling back to live his life normally?) I can't recall which games are set in the Defeated timeline (maybe it was "Link's Awakening" and "A Link to the Past"?), but I know there were some of them...
    But this game? Damned if I know - it might even be a FOURTH timeline they just came up with, and just watch the fandom implode on itself (they sure did when they learned there were not two, but THREE timelines in the first place). Wait and see I guess.

    I'd say it takes place in the windwaker timeline. After all, the Kokiri only changed their appearance in Windwaker. Not to mention the bird-people only evolved that way because of the great flood. Somehow, the flood is reversed, revealing the ruins of Hyrule. Something happens, Link is defeated, and Ganon is sealed into Hyrule castle. A hundred years later, the seal weakens and Link is revived/reawoken to stop Ganon from escaping/defeat him if he does.

  • @benoitgauthier3988
    @benoitgauthier3988 Před 7 lety

    It is Wind Waker timeline for many reasons.
    First, we know it is after ocarina of time because of the temple of time's state.
    Second, the koroks are linked to the Second Deku Tree, they only appear in wind waker but linked to the tree, they could be from any adult timeline so link to the past or Wind Waker. Moreover banishment and return of ganondorf in childhood timeline is already solved in Twillight Princess, where the temple of time appeared really different. Link to the past already cover ganon activities during the fallen hero era, so only the wind waker era remain.
    Third, the sheika advanced technology is very similar to the tower of gods in wind waker, especially the boss and its room. Same dark grayblue rooms and blue beam. you don't see that in any other zelda.
    Fourth, i have already talked about the koroks but they are not alone. Wind waker introduced the ritos a bird-humanoid race evolved from the zoras. Once again Breath of the wild has a unique similarity with Wind Waker. They may be unrelated but that would be a first in the zelda saga. Breath of the wild also show actual zora which looks drasticly different from the usual ones which suggest evolution.
    Finally, the wind waker intro suggests that generations after ocarina of time Ganon came back but the hero of time was nowhere to be seen. In breath of the wild we understand that Link has fallen during the first moments of Ganon cameback and out for 100 years, it could match with wind waker story.
    The "we pray the triforce and every thinks was drown" remain unsolved/yet to be told/part of the legend being lost to history.
    Wind waker share many uniques similarities with Breath of the Wild, I don't see any unique similarities with other games.

    I feel like this game is directly after Skyward Sword. Link in that game is supposedly the FIRST of the timeline and reincarnations etc. now Link wakes up in this game. so what if the the hero defeated Demise and went into slumber? and Demise, upon knowing his defeat "cursing the hero" somehow revived himself in the form of Ganon (as all reincarnations are), and became Calamity Ganon? it didn't specify this was after OoT, and honestly I don't see it being in that timeline. a calamity usually refers to something destructive happening upon being awakened. Ganon wakes up in a way, like Link, but has influence of Demise. at least I see it that way.

    ALso, a theory I have going. In wind waker, they say that the reason everything was flooded, was because the hero that was against Ganon after he returned, actually failed, so the gods flooded everything.
    It makes SO MUCH SENSE for the hero who is resurrected to be the one you play in Breath of the Wild. You get the master sword and meet the Deku tree, he tells you about 100 years ago when you failed to defeat ganon and the valley was flooded. The game itself taking place AFTER the flood recedes.

      The issue with that is I think all the Gorons are dead because of the flooding, so I dont believe there would be a way for them to return. Also, Wind Waker happens after Link defeats Ganon and returns to his timeline. This game fits more in line with the timeline for when Link lost to Ganon instead.

      @Daigon95 Před 7 lety

      I highly doubt tht since it was still flooded in Wind Waker. This will most likely take place in New Hyrule (after Spirit tracks) or after the events of Zelda 2 in the Downfall timeline (but doubt it since the koroks and bird guys (forgot their name) are in the game)

  • @SirAdamusGames
    @SirAdamusGames Před 7 lety

    the Deku Sprout is the one seen in Wind Waker, which had a more pronounced face and a big chin - this one looks like the original, mustache and all - which, along with the general geography and the fact that Hyrule Castle resembles its Twilight Princess iteration, implies Child timeline, where Ganondorf wasn't really able to do *anything* before he was put on trial. That he's this big eldritch abomination of destruction, but from the looks of things no apparent sentience from his Ganondorf state, it could be that after being killed in TP, due to his time as a wraith in the Twilight Realm, parts of him, the incarnation of Demise's hatred, was able to endure and eventually come back.
    it can't be the Success timeline, as the entire point behind the flood is that there was no hero to save the day (as he'd been sent back in time by Zelda and the Hero's Spirit didn't reincarnate until Wind Waker era as the Hero of Winds) and it can't be post Wind Waker as those games are set in an entirely new Hyrule (and old Hyrule was 'washed away', and yet Zelda is clearly seen in one of the Goddess springs from Skyward Sword). it might be the Downfall timeline, but the presence of the Deku Tree kind of counts against that, as well, there's really no point in time where Ganon could become a raging eldritch monstrosity and then later come back as just a regular pig demon again (unless it's post Adventure of Link, but the lack of a Master Sword in that era counts against that)

    It can't be the Windwaker timeline because the Hero didn't appear and
    then the Gods flooded the land. It also can't take place before Ocarina
    because that was Ganon's first appearance and Calamity Ganon is referred
    to as a Primal Evil who has plagued Hyrule for ages. It's either way
    down the line of the Child Timeline or the latest game in the Defeated
    Timeline, past Zelda II.

      it cant be after zelda 2, ganon was truly defeated with the silver arrow, many speculate its after OoT on the defeat timeline, but the hero was saved last minute and put into a healing chamber by the Impa tribe. guess we will know in 2 months.
