Its not on the list but Anderson Cooper came to the Philippines on the aftermath of typhoon Haiyan and he was always compassionate and respectful. He never treated the victims like props for his stories. He also had the guts to call out local officials when they weren't doing their jobs and called out people who were abusing the situation. So doubt he'd get to read this but just want to share an additional moment of how good he is not just as a journalist but as a man in general.
Ali Altizo at one time he may have been a journalist. Not sure there are any real journalist left today.
He was the kind of guy who'd head into danger to secure a story. It'd make sense he actually be willing to call out people who are unjust.
I agree, he is a great humanitarian. What is great about his altruism is that he doesn’t do it for self promotion or self promotes by talking about what he does.

I watch coverage of Katrina and was forever a fan of Cooper when he looked into the camera and said “where is our President?” We still want to know where he was?
And last night we found out he became a father Monday.
He is so deserving of a child's love & he is going to be an amazing father.

I remember when anderson did the tribute to the victims of the pulse massacre, it still brings me to tears.
Me too He could barely talk. Christina Grimmie and her brother. All those poor souls lost because of a deranged psychopath. Anderson has heart and you can't teach that.
I admire Anderson Cooper for choosing to focus more on the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting and also encouraging people to help the survivors in any way that they could through things such as blood donation and counseling. This is what journalists should do in the event of a tragedy such as a mass shooting: remember the victims, honor the heroes, listen to the survivors (when they are ready to talk,) and encourage the public to help the survivors.

Me too. Anderson Cooper as well as Wolf Blitzer are just two men who have convinced me that grey, silver or white hair stylish as well as visually appealing. The first woman to do so was Meryl Streep in her role as Miranda Priestly in the movie "The Devil Wears Prada."

I wept with Mr Cooper on the night of that dreadful attack on Pulse. He said & acted what we all felt. Anderson Cooper is a credit to the human race.

Anderson Cooper set an example of what reporters should do in the aftermath of a mass shooting: remember the victims, honor the heroes, listen to the survivors (when they are ready to talk,) and encourage the public to help the survivors in any way that they can. People helped the survivors of the Pulse nightclub tragedy through acts such as blood donation or counseling.

He gots be one of the coolest reporters ever, I mean how many reporters do you see helping out a injured 🤕 child during their job.
And now that boy has become a doctor. Anderson met up with him several years after he saved his life during the riots in Haiti. While I don't condone the riots; I can understand why the riots were occurring: the people of Haiti were angry over the incompetent and inefficient response to the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. They were upset over not being able to get access to food, water, medication, medical supplies, etc because of the corruption in Port-au-Prince.
The only thing missing --- certainly an 'honorable mention,' at least -- was in his interview with candidate Trump when they were discussing the campaign ugliness between DJT and Cruz. DJT said, "I didn't start it," and Cooper said, "With all due respect, that's the argument of a five year old."

He got me through Hurricane Katrina. I live in Louisiana. He played "When the Levee Breaks" by Led Zeppelin. I will never forget it.
I consider him a modern analog of Murrow or Cronkite. I find him all the more compelling due to the fact that he is a Vanderbilt heir and probably could have, if he wanted to, lived without working his whole life.

I don't remember who it was but I think that was Louisiana's governor Kathleen Blanco. New Orleans' mayor Ray Nagin took Hurricane Katrina seriously because he lived through Hurricane Betsy in 1965 and Hurricane Camille in 1969. It was through Ray Nagin that the Civil Emergency message for Hurricane Katrina was issued to convince even the most stubborn residents of New Orleans that Katrina would destroy the city and that they should get the Hell out of New Orleans.

We have fewer and fewer Journalist of Anderson's Cooper's caliber, to stand up and report the truth. His actions to report and put himself in harms way and even helping the civilian people shows true dedication. We need more journalist like Anderson.

I would have thought the time the revolution in Egypt was going on and had to fight his way to safety in order to escape the riots in the streets. He couldn’t even list his location due to the threat of his life. That was some damn good reporting and I was shocked you never included it

While I don't watch the news as much as I used too (I.E see the arguments down below for reference) Anderson Cooper has always been a person that catches my attention. He remains steadfast in his resolve on all issues, telling the truth (Yes, the whole truth as much as certain republican supporters might think otherwise) in times of crisis and peril. He holds everyone to a higher standard, and does not back down. He is a person that I feel surprisingly comforted in seeing when on TV. Not because he supports my opinion, but because he continues to be kind and show his humanity when telling the stories he has to cover. During the incident at the Pulse night club and the resulting aftermath, he showed a humanity that few reporters shared. He was willing to cry on screen for lives lost. That is a sign of a good reporter, and a decent human being.

He's had a really unique and heroic life. I really like him. His mom is Gloria Vanderbilt. A documentary was made of her life and a movie, as well, so check it out!
The documentary is titled "Nothing Left Unsaid." I felt so sorry for Anderson Cooper when he lost his mother to stomach cancer. During an on-air tribute to his mom; Anderson Cooper sounded like he was going to cry.
