    The main reason I enjoys Ron’s reviews is he’s not some staffer saying oh this ball is great everyone needs this in their bag. It’s the next best thing..

    Great information not only with this ball, but other equipment we may have with the surface changes to get the ball around the corner

    Picked one up on Friday. I’ve got about 20 games on it so far at box finish. Averaging about 230 with it across all those games. I actually touched it up after the first 15 games with some CTD 5500 hand applied polish. I know some people hate box finish/high gloss on pearl balls, but I prefer it. I’m a higher rev guy, and struggle with balls that hook early, so the shinier the better, as far as I’m concerned. So far this thing is perfect for me.
    I actually bought this ball looking for something to be a transition ball behind my Exotic Gem in league. As it stands, this ball could be the only one I throw all 3 games. The angular reaction of this ball reminds me of why we all fell in love with SPI ~20 years ago. It’s snappy and I love it. Halfway through the first game I felt like I did when I got my first Cell way back when. As a loyal Roto Grip fan, I honestly think this may be the ball of the year for them... It’s gonna be hard to beat.

    Really cute watching this ball finish behind the 7.5 pin

    Great tip on how to fine tune ball shape. Definitely made the back end more predictable and still continuous. Something I'll be looking for and testing for sure. Thanks

    I always watch any of the videos CTD puts out. Because as a consumer, I want the honest thoughts on something

    Reactagloss finish on out of box bowling balls is so crazy lol. Sand it all the way up to 4k and then put polish on it. Shinier than fresh out of the body shop

    Another great video! How do you think the ball would react with compound, instead of reacta shine? I’ve been using 3M advanced auto rubbing compound, instead of Brunswick crown compound. I think the effect is better, and definitely lasts longer. I only have to use a tiny amount, and hand apply it. I hope you can comment on this. And if you have never tried it, I think you would be surprised how well it works.

    i always hit my bowling balls with a 2000 pad to take care of the over and under i always have gotten with a new ball. if its a pearl or hybrid i will use 3M polish if i want a shine on it

    so after hitting it with a 4000 pad how often will u need to do that with lane shine ?

  • @mhwchar
    @mhwchar Před měsícem

    Just picked up my Attention Star yesterday. Will take a 4000 pad to it. What would the difference be applying by hand dry versus using a spinner and applying wet?

  • @jimk9290
    @jimk9290 Před 4 měsíci

    A ball that can be thrown at "lane shine", and rides the shim to blend the over/under of a THS, and gets the carry this gets, and has downlane miss room, is a ball you want to have. This is a ball everybody can benefit from.

    Ok so at the beginning you said this is a high oil absorption cover what do we do then to maintain this ball

    I have no idea if it was the matchmaker ball being the matchmaker ball, but when I threw this ball at, well, a matchmaker event this ball was earlier and more violent down lane than the Harsh Reality. I have no idea why specifically that is, but this ball is waaaaaaay too strong at least for me

    Thanks, a good demonstration of the ball and surface education as well! So, my question is wether the final surface after the sanding would be the same as a pearl sanded to 5k, or if the reaction is produced by the polish sanded down to that level? In other words, what is the difference between sanded pearl surface and cracked polish surface?

    • @Ctdbowling
      @Ctdbowling  Před 4 měsíci

      The surface would be the same if the ball was solid, pearl, it hybrid. With us just cracking the surface it's not as aggressive

    Since you used that 4000 pad to get a better shape, how many throws or games do you think that specific ball will continue to give you that shape?
    My guess is just barely the entire game..?

    • @Ctdbowling
      @Ctdbowling  Před 4 měsíci +2

      You will get a couple of games because the ball only needs to get to 4700 and it is done changing.

    at this point im still trying to figure out why they are still doing reacta gloss, no one cares, we all just resurface the ball new out the box, it sucks, and even tho you didnt fully remove it you still had to alter it because its terrible. It feels like slime with oil on it

  • @vincecovarrubias8050
    @vincecovarrubias8050 Před 4 měsíci

    Reacta gloss is trash.... It really dulls down the ball reaction.... We're paying top dollar for the latest and greatest in ball technology.... then they go and ruin it by using reacta gloss 🤬

    • @whitehh15
      @whitehh15 Před měsícem

      I wonder what the pros do with it.. Lots of the PBA big dawgs are throwing it.. I'd be curious if they hate reacta gloss too, or if they are bringing out a new A-star every second game because the reacta gloss suits their 500RPM's. Us normies might be thinking Reacta gloss is trash because we have 1/3 the RPMs
