Hi Diolch o Gasnewydd - ("Thanks from Newport" is that Newport Gwent?). I live close by in the Sirhowy Valley. I got the motor etc on Amazon and Ebay thinking I would need a series of pully wheels to get grip but found that if I used a wool based yarn there was no slip at all with just one large wheel. Good luck with your build and if you take some videos please upload on CZcams. I would love to see your funicular. Cheers Michael
Being a registrar of births, deaths and marriages, policital correctness prevents me calling it Newport Gwent , Newport Mon or worse still Newport Cardiff! My mind can only cope with the City of Newport. The irony is I'm originally from the Newport Pembs area! I'm going to have a go at starting the funicular this afternoon. I won't get very far but I'll enjoy it. Diolch.
