I've watched quite a few body language videos, and that was the thing that stuck out the most for me. One of the other things was Holly saying you haven't been forced to do this? Now I'm no expert, but was that comment necessary? Seemed forced to me.

You can also just read between the lines, the statement from holly about Phil’s arm not being forced to come out, is clearly contrived with the accusations that were circulating everywhere at the time in mind.

Poor Phil couldn't quite manage to produce tears when he talked about the wife, so he tried again when he mentioned the daughters and still failed! Never one to be beaten, Phil tried for a third time when thanking Holly for her support and still couldn't quite muster a moist eye! He therefore he loses the best actor BAFTA on this point.

I’m a gay man who struggled, but this is just pathetic. My first thought was his poor wife and my second thought was why all these years come out now he married her in his 30’s. Now it emerged that he was unfaithful to his wife having admitting he was unfaithful to his wife having and affair with a teenager. I remember seeing this & turning to my friend saying 'why isn't he saying he's bisexual?' 'If he's saying he's gay what dose that say to his wife & children'. 'That the wife wasted years with a man who never truly loved/ wanted her? What does that say about his daughters that they should never have existed?'. Some people feel that the wife always knew, I don't know. I thought it was terrible. I think about Paul O'grady, I saw him on stage as Lily Savage never heard so many expletives, never laughed as much in my life. A true, honest & kind hearted man. Or Alan Carr who is a great guy (my friend worked with him). A lot of people don't care if you are gay, they care what kind of person you are.
Principally it’s about character you’re absolutely spot on. He is clearly bisexual; you cannot spend that amount of time with someone and have 2 children if there is no form of love. I cannot accept that. He clearly (in hindsight) had other things going on which we are now finding out about. I personally feel so sorry for his family (or previous family) right now, it must be so challenging for them.
Having watched the entire thing IMO he’s trying to play a clever game. He sensed people are on to him and thought he would use the LGBTQ+ card as well as mental health and that side of things. That disgusts me. Both are such credible causes and despite me being straight I have an immense respect to that first community and I have had my challenges under the umbrella of the second. He has used and abused channels that he knows are very supportive in the hope that they would stand with him when the truth came out. I know they won’t. This is the first celeb/ media drama I’ve ever so much as even glanced at and I cannot believe him.

As a straight man with two girls of my own, I wouldn't use 30 years of my life blatantly lying to a woman and carrying on living a lie and ruining 3 other people's life just to use "I'm gay now" card and expect people to tell me how brave I was. He knew his sexuality and I'm in no way saying it would be easy coming out as gay but let's actually understand that 3 people have been a part of a lie and they deserve sympathy for what he's done. When Holly says "you've been very open & honest with Steph all through this" & Phillip replies "yeah I have no secrets we've never had any secrets" knowing all along he had an affair with a boy young enough to be his son actually Matthew is younger than both Phillip's daughters.
At the time when I watched this I thought wow what a strong woman Steph is to still remain friends with him but now knowing the other stuff that has come out I think Steph has been manipulated by Phillip he admitted to Steph he was confused about his sexuality but funny how he left out the bit that he was having a relationship with a boy behind her back because he knew she wouldn't have accepted that.
You can't control your sexuality but you can control whether to cheat or not or to lie or not, Phillip knew just the right amount to admit to so he can still come out of it looking good or like the poor victim that has been struggling. I hope Steph does a story on Phillip she must have loads of stories but I think Steph is too classy for that & she won't want to further cause upset to her daughters. I hope Steph, Ruby & Molly can heal from this they are the real victims in all this thinking your husband & father was one person & then finding out he is someone else leading a double life.

The problem is not the sexuality, it's what you do with it. Secret affairs -- that's adultery -- are not healthy. Living a double life of lies is never healthy. Either stop the adultery and covering up lies or stop the betrayals.

Back in the late eighties, a guy came to work with us who had previously worked in the theatre told us Phil was gay, and that was back in the late eighties.
Yes it was well known amongst the entertainment business that he was gay. The only people who didn't seem to know is his wife of nearly 30 years, his daughters and the general public.

As a gay man and came out in my 20s very discreetly, innocently with no massive drama - it was a challenging time. However, I’m sceptical about his motives. It’s disturbing to hear young boys were possible involved. Were the media involved? Over the years he’s judged so many people such as Kerry Katona all whilst living a lie. I don’t trust him one bit. And good guys Ruth and Eamon have now disappeared. 🤔
I think he came out with it to either come out before it was leaked or to hide something else more scary. Lots of allegations related to a former runner who worked at TM. Phillip first met him when he was 12 and brought him to work when he was 16 where they then started an affair. He’s tried to hide by filing with the courts but leaks have happened. The timing is highly suspect, and there's a growing contingent of people that are alleging things which they say are backed up by hard evidence. And Dan Wooton, who is a reporter for The Sun, actually had the story for a while but was torn over whether to publish it because he thought it was wrong to out a gay man, especially being gay himself. Phil found out The Sun had the story, so decided to come out, before the newspapers did it. And where is your proof of grooming? From the age of 15 up until the guy started work experience at This Morning at 19, they had exchanged 4 messages in 4 years. How does that constitute grooming?

Again I came out when I was 19 (am 40 now) and really struggled but I knew even then I didn’t want to live a lie or end up hurting anyone else. I feel proud of my 19 year old self showing more responsibility and self awareness than this guy seems to have shown in his whole adult life!
