I will never forget the unbelievable performance of Roy Hargrove at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 2007. People were standing in the isles in ecstasy! I had seen Roy on the North Sea Jazz Cruise Ship with Herbie and others prior to us docking in Rotterdam and as usual he was outstanding. But at the Ahoy Center in Rotterdam with his own group, they blew the house down! Roy at the North Sea Jazz Festival was magical and one of the top jazz performances I've heard in my lifetime. Kenny has had me standing on my feet and emoting sounds when I heard him playing with Miles. Truly outstanding and gifted musicians.
A friend of mine "hipped" me to this tune about 2 weeks ago. I've always loved Roy Hargrove and I've always loved Kenny Garrett... But, I've NEVER heard this one before... haven't stopped listening to it since I was introduced to it... IT STAYS ON REPEAT IN MY HOME AND CAR NOW!!!

Roy Hargrove would have loved this groove, and the quote to A Love Supreme works perfectly in this piece! The solos on saxophone and trumpet are of course amazing as well.
