      I agree but they did not always work correctly when they got older. I had them on my 69 Camaro RS SS and had to replace a bunch of vacuum lines when they stopped functioning correctly. But yes, the RS headlights, grill, and Endura bumper rock.

    Damn that's a sharp looking 69 Z28. I like restomods but I really love an original looking 51 year old car that looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. The best part is he's not afraid to beat the hell out of it.

      A 69 z28 is a car that I always wanted just couldn't get a good deal on one.Dodge and Plymouth came out with theTA Challenger and ARA Cuda 340 +6 pak to compete with the Z/28 and Boss 302 Mustang .I had deal got all but the Z28 . My cousin had a❤blue Z but would not race it or let me drive it,I did take a ride in it and I think it was just as fast as the other three but you would have to line them up and it would have come down to drivers and traction😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤I still luv the style and look of theZ and want the one that had two four barrels from the factory very rare❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉

    Nice! Lemans Blue with white rally stripes on a 1969 Camaro Z/28 RS. 302, 4 spd, 3.73 rear axle ratio, front disc brakes, 4 leaf rear suspension, ZL2 cowl induction hood (optional), Endura bumper (optional), and 15 inch Rally wheels! The RS package is an appearance package upgrade which includes the hidden headlights, trim around the wheel wheels and back up/reverse lights under the bumper and different tail lights. The SS package was a performance package which included upgraded suspension (5 leaf rear springs as opposed to 4 or single leaf cars) and disc brakes along with upgraded engines in BBC or SBC. Awesome video...my favorite of all time Camaro. That was my dream car. I once owned a 69 RS/SS Camaro with ZL2 cowl hood, Endura bumper, and auto trans and SBC (it was painted white with blue rally stripes). Bought it from a guy in Northridge, and kept it for 8 years then sold it to a guy right before 9/11 to finance another house purchase...sometimes it sucks to be an adult. Wonder where shes at now? A little late to the show but I just ran across this video. You guys are spot on no Z 28 SS combo Z 28 is the engine code option. fun fact, 1967 wasn’t badged as a Z28. It was only an option code given to customers. In order for Chevrolet to enter the Trans Am, there had to be so many of the car offered to the public. Therefore, we got one of the baddest beast of all time. Although 1967 was a small journal they up the Annie in 68 and 68 and 69 got the large strong version of the DZ 302 I’ve had a 69 Camaro RS since I was 15 still have it today just say a couple decades later lol I’ll probably be buried in it instead of a coffin. I enjoy an all original interior bc man they don’t make them like this anymore! Crazy to see how much detail went into these cars from factory. I like the overly done new stuff as well but it’s more unique looking at a all original interior🔥

    I believe factory spec’s on the 302 rated the engine at 290hp. However like most muscle cars of that era, the manufacturers listed hp was way lower that actual.

      The horsepower ratings of the time were overrated because engines were rated without accessories.

    • @AutotopiaLA
      @AutotopiaLA  Před 4 lety +1

      They marketed as 290 but I’ve read closer to 400 was realistic and this definitely makes more than 290 hp!

    • @robertc4311
      @robertc4311 Před 4 lety

      @@Robert-goose1 Its been documented with rebuilt engines to factory specs on engine dynos that they make @350/375HP, as does the Boss 302. Look at the RPM its rated at for 290HP at 5800, thats the trick in the statement. However, that is not the Peak RPM for the engine...which I believe is about 7000 RPM..there's were it making 350+ HP...

    • @davidgraham2673
      @davidgraham2673 Před 4 lety +32

      I just posted the same comment, explaining in detail why you can't have a Z-28 combined with a SS package. The Rally Sport was a trim package, and it could be ordered on any Camaro, even the famed ZL-1.
      The SS came with either a 350 or a 396, but never the 302. That came only in the Z-28.

    The same color as my 69 Z/28, Marina blue with the same color interior, brings back even more wonderful memories. I bought it at Applegate Chevrolet in Flint, Michigan in 1969. Mine didn't have the SS package, it was just the RS complete with 3.73 gear and a 4 spd trans. I was a 20 year old kid who thought he had all the time in the world and was 10 feet tall and bullet proof, lol. What a car!

      With stock exhaust manifolds it was low numbers but in the trunk were special made long tubes supplied by Chevy just for that car that one thing alone brought the horsepower up considerably then of course some work to the distributor. Was in order get the advance to come in right and to max stock distributors never came all in to 36 or whatever the engine really.likes some that I fooled.w back in the day would give me 30 and that was a good one I would not even run a vacuum advance on that motor it would only.make it do weird shit and detonate at cruising speeds maybe an adjustable one to limit the amount of advance you wanted but a stock one would just drive you nuts especially the way the factory wants us to believe. They should. Be hooked up to.ported vacuum so your cruising along advanced nice you found the sweet spot downshift and floor it you loose vacuum so that sweet spot is gone now you see what im saying it's why people lock everything. Out at full advance.otherwise you go out.of your. Mind trying. To tune it for max power w no detonation
