      1. Don't work hard for the sake of working hard.

      @bielasp Před 3 lety +20

Exactly, a lot of people say that u have to work in your business 10-16h whit out any rest, in fact this is making you unproductive, if u don't let your mind rest your productivity will just decrease hour by hour, and u will think that u are being productive but in fact u are wasting your time. Work smarter, not harder

Watching this makes me feel like I'm on drugs. The same thing every day. The same habits. The same deep pain of never accomplishing any slowly rotting my soul. I hear the words of reason but I don't want to leave the comfort of mindless routine. It's like I'm drowning in 3 feet of water and I don't want to stand up.

Read the Power of Now. Trust me. Don't get spooked if parts seem a little overly spiritual to you. The overall idea, if understood and implemented, can truly change your life. I also recommend Andrew's next listed video: The real reason you procrastinate. It focuses on emotions. A very good book on that topic which presents a technique that imo is revolutionary is 'Letting Go' by David R. Hawkins.
As with all things, you will have to find your own way, some things work for some people, some for others. Just try to listen to yourself and to your body from time to time and try to focus less on what your monkey mind has to say every second of every single day.
      Good luck, brother.

There's a book called The 10 seconds rule. To sum it up she said that you need to act on your thoughts within the first 10 seconds. For example. You're thinking I really need to start working on that personal project. But you lay there contemplating if you should do that or wait for tomorrow. If you don't get up within the 10 seconds you'll end up talking yourself out of it. And repeat that pattern and never do it. I did that with working out in the morning. I would lay there in bed thinking "Oh, it's too cold," or "I should skip today." But I started counting and would get out of bed before I counted to 10. You can find the lady talk about it here on CZcams. Idk if you really need to read the whole book. Because she summarizes it on an interview I found on CZcams.

I get it so much it hurts! When I get tempted to turn on netflix on my TV, I end up staying at TV screen for many days, I feel like suffocating, I feel so unhappy, feel like I'm drowning like you described, I call myself a mindless zombie. And this mindlessness keeps repeating daily, untill I turn it off and leave that room for good, close the door and go to a room with no TV. Then I feel so liberated, I feel much more alive, like I am able to choose my actions because I am aware!..

No, the key phrase is when a person is commended for good work, and that person says, “I try.”

I think Ryan holiday's 'ego is the worst enemy' also mentioned the Bill Walsh story. it's a an important idea that people need to know... as long as you have a why, continue going for it, you're good. The only thing you need to care about is your pace on progressing.
For saying no though, whoever says no needs to learn to love and value themselves first, before that happens, they don''t know that they're being dragged around by life. helping people to learn saying no, I believe is an easy fix to a deeper problem. But what you're doing is great no matter what because it wakes people up.

The worrying about outcomes is not really the main thing. I would suggest everyone look into "detachment from outcomes" which was beautifully explained in Dr. K video "How to avoid suffering in life". Suffering as attaching to the outcomes, for instance making money, finding girlfriend etc. Worrying or enjoying outcomes is fine to some extent. But it is that detachment and the suffering that is caused by "bad" outcomes. Have a nice weekend.

Totally agree about saying no. My issue is I thrive off new things...so many times projects don't get enough focus to complete before I move on in favor of something new. Eventually I come back around to it when enough time has passed that it can feel like something new. I think I realized also that I've gotten so spoiled only doing stuff I wanted to do that I've trained my brain to completely reject anything I don't "feel" like doing. So while I actually hate being unproductive...lately I'm not productive at all.

5:13 "the super productive people let other people call them productive and hard working". This. For long I've been wondering about the dangers of self labeling, and have let others do the labeling for me. This has allowed me to shift focus and put more work in the process, not on how hard I'm working. If I'm a hard working and productive individual, let that be a recognition bestowed upon me by others for the percieved value of my actions and the quality of my production.

The problem with saying no to everything is it limits you to just your own ideas and may decrease your personal growth as well as cause a lack in one of our most valuable resources which is relationships. No one succeeds on their own, we need each other to survive and we can find great joy and satisfaction in cooperative relationships. Maybe it would be better to suggest people to pay attention the choices they make and evaluate if those choices distract you from your purpose or potential or if they help grow and shape you. I say this because many people who say yes often might truly, find joy and satisfaction out of helping others, as their yes might be a clue as to what type of gifts they have and where their calling is. Many people like to help others succeed with accomplishing their goals, and the helper ( the yes person) might be gifted to lead others by supporting their goals, that does not in itself make that persons unproductive or someone whose time has been wasted because they spent it helping someone else achieve their goals. Ideally having a bit of balance between self serving and serving others would be ideal but that may take a life time to do. I just think you should question that metric in your equation.

I feel like Jobs was saying a bit different thing. When he was saying about saying no he was talking about challenging your ideas and not taking every opportunity for granted. If you say yes to everything and don’t acknowledge things you may improve on and won’t make a good product in the end.
Problem with describing this thought in way that you don’t say yes to everything and everyone is to become ignorant of other people and other things witch isn’t good either. By helping others you can learn a lot more than on your own

Doing best means satisfaction for me and not for the sake of everything but my happiness doing the process and get amazed in the outcome. Though I'm still having trouble in expressing my own idea (as in). Tbh, I'm not good of it but shaping others idea, I am. I just get some help to have a good idea then I'll work in it, and start doing my 'best' definition. - well of course credits for that person.
But in my situation right now, in my modular session, I'm having a trouble about that. And there is this page that I got stucked that makes me get piled a lot of modules to answer. Well I'm also not that kind of person who just skip a task/page and then just go back to it so it would not a waste of time. 🤚I'm not that and I do not care if I got finished but having satisfaction like what I said, present is what matters to me. Living in the moment though in my case, my mind don't participate or it's just being that - (Edited: after 9:38 part - but I'm just showing to myself how I want to get satisfied) Yes I already asked help but still no help came because I respect others time too so I just have patience to wait for it though I'm being piled.
What should I do about my situation? Advice please
