    Thanks for the straight up honesty about the things you didn't like. It's always good to get insight from experienced riders. However, I decided to make the leap and purchase the Z1. Your points were quite valid but they were not deal breakers for me. Thanks for another great one Bruh!

    What would be really cool is if you could get some spikes on the deck to really lock your feet in and you could still bail.

    I agree. Their CS is top notch. I can't say it enough. I love this board being a heavier rider.. it has the power to haul me anywhere, lol. Great bang for your buck for sure. I put MBS on mine and i keep them loose so i can get out when i need to and trust me.. i have needed to, lol. Great review.

    Got to try this board after a group ride today, was only at half battery so couldn’t give a totally fair impression but was totally manageable to launch it vs my 12s prototipo geared roughly the same which still had a lot more pull around the same battery percentage left. Really puts into perspective the difference in amps though since I’m running 160 motor amps total.

    I'm you're size and seeing a review of someone like me was cool. Sitting on the box was all I need to know about this board. Butt boarding ftw! I for sure would be moving the esc back 2 screws or 3d printing a a plate to set it behind the trucks. It's free real estate! Still having an obstruction between the legs seems off putting. Send me the board, I'll pull out full throttle all day hehe XD

  • @ajplant96
    @ajplant96 Před rokem +3

    Just fyi Zac was using heel straps too so 100% locked in, bindings themselves there’s room to bail when you get used to them and they dramatically improve your turning circle. A lot of race board setups here in Aus are adopting channel trucks with at least a front binding atm and outmanoeuvring dkp boards in tight turns at our track nights.

    • @esk8unity
      @esk8unity  Před rokem +1

      u can still easily get caught in bindings or at LEAST get in the way with ur bail. i just dont see the reason to go for channel trucks cuz ur compromising elsewhere just to get proper turning. I think any other truck setup doesnt compromise elsewhere. regardless, I don’t need help turning, I just hate the slop…again, just for me as a rider, cant speak for anyone else

      @@esk8unity All fair points man, I do like them having dialled them in how I want them finally on my proto and find them to be a great all rounder for off road otherwise for sure but yeah after time away from them last year switching to an rkp setup I noticed that mid spot where it just felt like a floating feeling. For me the bindings just provide more control but it is personal preference at the end of the day.

      @@esk8unity Yeah they're on my neverending parts list haha, planning to build a mountainboard later this year that should be able to quick swap between 2 and 4wd as well as battery quick swap. Proto is my favourite board to date though, using the radium riptide bushing adapters softest duro in the front and middle duro in the back it's a carving machine.

  • @ByronETAWheels
    @ByronETAWheels Před rokem +3

    Compress the bushings by 3mm from the adjustment nuts. You can also dial in toe loose heel stuff, or neutral.
    It's the 4mm hex pins. I don't have any slack I could detect after I learned how to set up matrix 2 shock blocks.
    You can also get the iridium adapter and run hyper truck bushings which may be more your speed.

    • @rickestrada6752
      @rickestrada6752 Před rokem +1

      I totally agree with you..the bushing nut adjuster needs to be tightened..

    • @esk8unity
      @esk8unity  Před rokem

      did that. still has slop, just less noticeable. when u put load on it, it still has a jiggle affect before u put all ur weight from heel toe.

    • @ByronETAWheels
      @ByronETAWheels Před rokem +1

      @@esk8unity I would suggest checking the kingpin nut for tightness. It doesn't need to be super hero tight, but snug till the slop is taken out and locktite. I may not notice it as much on mine because I have a lot more weight on it.
      I discovered that you can go 1mm-5mm compression on each side of the bushing, and by doing each side equally it seems to get a better result.
      Mine are adjusted a bit tighter heel side than toe side, and you can play with it to really dial it in. I'm in love with channel trucks now. Good luck, you will get it after playing with it.
      The LaCroix hyper truck bushing adapters open up some softer bushings as an alternate option.

  • @Rip9NinerRider
    @Rip9NinerRider Před rokem

    Great video and I think thats a fair assesment of the NYX. Dallas said it below, your adjustment screws are way to loose, I don't have that slop in my trucks at all and it is all down to those adjustment screws. This board wasn't designed for tight turning radius it was designed to go down dirt paths and trails, when you get the board to turn like a street board it will have lots of slop. My back adjustment screws backed out over the course of time, it was great at low speeds but it got a little unstable at 34-35mph. I tightened up those adjustment screws and it was back to being very stable at speed. When I saw how much the board was deflecting on the trucks during your turn radius demo it was obvious that the bushings were way loose. I have never seen TKP or DKP on a mountain board deck, I may be wrong but I think the geometry isn't compatible with the mountain board. Trampa makes a dual kingpin truck for mountain boards called the IR, but in application it is vary similar to channel trucks. My remote and board seem very close to actual speed, when comparing claimed remote speed and the ride app I am .5mph to 1mph difference at most. Thanks for the video, the board is such a beast!

  • @ryanoc333
    @ryanoc333 Před rokem

    I have the red bushing in, and have zero play in turning. I just checked how you did, and it was super responsive. I have under 100 miles as well as the screws in a littler further. I can see in your video that there is a gap in the top of the bushing when you rock it back and forth. I think thats where the slop is happening 9:01

    Good stuff Fred. The launch on this board is gnarly and took a seriously deep breath and concentration to do a 100% battery launch when I filmed my speed comparison video. One thing that might help a bit with the channels is adjusting the preload (tightening the two bushing bolts) to take up some of that slop. Thats helped me a ton in the past. Worth a shot.

    Great review! I definitely noticed the gap between the board and the top of the bushings. It's painfully obvious and being the veteran that he is, he had to notice it. I'm wondering if this condition is specific to his board or did he not actually do enough to setup the board. I have to assume he did since he took the time to specifically address this issue in the video. That slop has to go. I've been eyeing this board since it was first offered. Couldn't find any videos on it (There were literally 2 vids on it). One other potential issue I saw an other rider bring up, was that the deck will bite into the motor casing when doing off roading and steep turns (obviously body weight, plus soft bushings are a factor). This is an otherwise brilliant board!

    I've been riding this board for 1 month and already having problems.
    During a big acceleration uphill, the connection between the remote control and the board stopped and I fell.
    Another major problem is the bushings which come out on their own when I take very tight turns.
    I've been riding with 5 different boards for 5 years, this is the first time I've come across such a dangerous board.

    do you have any plans on reviewing a Propel Endeavor (or other suspension type boards)? I'm curious as to how they handle compared to regular boards. and if there's any reviewer who knows about handling, it'd be you. other reviewers just talk about how comfortable it is, but I'm mostly just curious how it handles which people always leave out. for example, I wonder if you can cruise at higher speeds (25~ mph) on bumpy roads without the board jumping all over the place.

      I have a endeavor pro 2 and yes the board is like butter over bumpy roads it’s almost too smooth if that makes sense, but the turning is very bad at low speeds but it can carve well at 20mpb, also it can reverse by holding down brake so you can make a 3 point turn, it’s like an actual vehicle not a board

    For off road use you don’t want the truck to respond to small imputes that would make going over rough terrain harder to do. Agreed less slop would be nice.

    Uhh... help me out.. I think I'm a pretty similar style rider you are .. I love carving and sliding on my evolve gtrs , and i like the carbon gtr more - since it has a slim design which makes going down curbs good etc.. but i've outgrown it and need an upgrade, because the way I ride them, they overheat in 5 minutes :/ ... SO .. Im im the market for a new board.. but cant decide what to get.. I guess I'd like a geartrain , not a belt.. because they seem to be better at everything.. So Acedeck stands out a lot.. but still not sure of atlas 2023 (geardrive amd slim) or nomad (geardrive and looks awesome. .but it's too low for curbs?) .. and now i kinda wanna try this nyx :D (Even tho most of the stuff I do is on roads, since I dont trust these boards getting moist or muddy) .. what would you prefer out of the 3 acedeck choices...
    Or do you suggest something else?
    Budget is around 2000-3000 eur, but I wouldnt even mind buying the bioboard for 5k - if I could testdrive it first.. There's nothing worse than buying a board which you cant test and end up hating it (for dimensions, cpncave or whatever reasons :D ) ..

      @@esk8unity I was reconnecting the remote correctly, for Acedeck support told me to leave the remote in “BELT DRIVE” not “HIB DRIVE” and that resolved the issue. I thought because it was a gear drive to set the remote in “HIB DRIVE”. Once I did that I was able to adjust the gear ratio and the remote started working correctly for MPH.

      I don't know if and what IP they rated it at, but from what I can tell, there's no rubber or silicone seal (check out Kami's video) in the battery box. also there's a bit of exposed wire between the deck and batty box. It the rear, there's a hole between the ESC and deck, you can clearly see the XT60 or 90 connector, no silicone covering it.

    hey can you give your opinion about this board and the Lorentz Major. Which board has more power and range? Right now Z3 is out but it has the super soft suspension. I am thinking if it still has this crazy acceleration that you tested with the Z1 in this video. Will the suspension cut some acceleration feeling?
