    In this video, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi discusses:
    a) A recap of the life of Abu Bakr (r) covered in the first 7 videos
    b) An introduction into the political and military conquests of Abu Bakr (r).
    -Abu Bakr (r) focused on 2 areas for political expansion. a) Iraq and b) As-Sham - to be covered in the next few videos.
    -What were the reasons for these wars and expansions?
    Some Muslims have claimed that these were defensive wars. On the flip side, some non Muslims claim that Islam was spread by the sword. Neither one is accurate.
    During the life of the Prophet (s), most of the battles were defensive in nature to gain the rights of the Muslims. A few (ie, Tabuk), indeed, were offensive even then.
    As for the Khalifas, however, these were political and offensive in nature.
    The conquests happened for several reasons:
    1) It was common practice of the times. This is how civilizations flourished.
    2) One of their goals was to spread political Islam.
    3) They hoped the masses would accept Islam [No, they did not force anyone to convert - it is not permissible in Islam to force anyone]
    If not by force, how else would the masses accept Islam?
    -By interacting with the Muslims
    -By offering incentives, because the Muslims were confident that the truth would eventually win them over. Also their children would be Muslims too
    Note, some of the Caliphs actually discouraged conversions or made it very difficult. But this was due to greed and wanting more taxes.
    This pure motivation was captured and demonstrated in a later incident when Rabi Ibn Amir met the Persian king Rustum, stating: "Allah has sent us so that we can take mankind from worshiping others of mankind, to worshiping the Lord of mankind, and from the tyranny of all false religions to the justice and truth of Islam, and from the confinements of this world to the vastness of the next life"
    Muslims should not be embarrassed by these political conquests of the past, since throughout time, this is what all civilizations have done. In fact, even today, many modern wars are fought with pride under the justification of "freedom."
    Does this mean such understandings need to be resurrected in modern times? (ie, what extremist group are doing)
    Scholars of Islam and the overwhelming majority of Muslims say no. We are living in different times, with treaties and pacts in place, where offensive Jihad is not valid.

    Jazakallah for all your great efforts, may Allah (SWT) forgive us for the mistakes and carelessness towards the good deeds and guide us to the right path. I'm sorry I didn't get the point you talked about borders, United nation and so on, can you sensibly take a look at Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and many more of Muslim countries, how much they suffer from Mr Qharzawi fatwa and his followers. Fear of Allah brothers don't teach us to be a sheep waiting for Wolves to arrive at least let us to live as a human peacefully. just to clarify I'm against fighting and War I live in a non Muslim country peacefully and I respect their rules and fully committed to it but you guys have responsibilities in the Yawm Al Qyama

    why most of the sahabas were killed( abu bakr ruled for a couple of years)??? Why all the Sahaba became the prophet's(PBUH) in-laws?????why did Aicha fought with ALI????why did the prophet took a 9 year old gir for marriage????? THESE ARE THE QUSTIONS THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED!

      "THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED!" who addressed it? In your grave will you be asked these questions? How does this questions take Jannah or Jahanam? Do you think there will ever be solution? So why don't you learn to accept the difference and co-exist than fuel the enmity between the two? What do you sort to gain from this?

    When everything is for the past and we don't need to resurrect it now in this day and age
    then we have to stop other Islamic practices as well
    like praying fasting giving zakat and the rest of it
    and what about jihad versus in Koran and hadith ??? Don’t you think we have to take out these material out of Koran and hadith ??

    • @shahedali02
      @shahedali02 Před 4 lety

      Taking the jihad verses out the Quran would mean it was changed.....
      Also everything isn't for the past....

    • @shahedali02
      @shahedali02 Před 4 lety +2

      You can't just say everything was from the past, let's just stop everything, that's ridiculous

      So what we need to do then؟

    • @shahedali02
      @shahedali02 Před 4 lety +4

      Mantaqi Anjam well of course we need them , in a world of chaos and confusion , Allah guides us , Allah brings us inner peace and meaning , so of course we need it

    • @shahedali02
      @shahedali02 Před 4 lety +3

      Mantaqi Anjam as for the verses of jihad , there’s a time and place for that , just like back then , there was a time and place , and the world may be different but the principles of Islam are still the same
