Technology will continue to be used to siphon wealth from the lower to the upper classes, culminating in the lower classes losing all leverage in society. Resulting in either genetic/transhumanist slavery to be the only option, or outright destruction of the lower classes. All this to create a truly permanent and immortal elite, fulfilling the ultimate self-interest of the upper classes who hold all power.

For me Isaac backseating is just who cares. The game is very hard but it's not so hard that you can't just master the controls; NL is so good at the game by now that his strategic decisions don't matter. A random assortment of boss and deal items are enough for him to beat the chest, so anything he did or could have done to get more items than that ain't nothing but bonus.

Yeah but on the other hand, it'd be a fair bit harder to really move up financially. You think you can finally catch a break now that you work at a higher-paying job, but now your cost of groceries has increased to a higher threshold. Now not only do you lose spending power because of year-to-year inflation (and tax brackets if applicable), but you also have to worry about paying a higher flat fee.
Just have it proportional to income in brackets? If you get a $100 pay rise and food costs $22 more, you're still better off @@seakladoom
