P&O Iona Embarkation Day - Norwegian Cruise - May 2024

- It's #embarkation Day and we're heading onboard P&O #iona for our first ever cruise to the #norwegianfjords
First things first, we need to drop the car off with CPS Parking and then we've got the morning to entertain ourselves before boarding. Once on board we're heading to our cabin (14602) and then dining in the Quays and Horizon Buffet.
This is our first ever cruise and we've chosen to travel on the P&O Iona ship in May 2024, stopping off at Stavanger, Olden, Ålesund & Haugesund. We have activities booked at all four ports! We're also checking out the onboard offerings, dining, drinks... Come along and see how we get on!

The last time we were on P and O was in 2005. Back then the balcony looked straight down into the sea, many none of the room offer this anymore.

I was on that cruise too! So hot wasn't it. Wasted so much space in my suitcase with big winter coats! Doh! Great video
Yeah we had all our big coats on the hooks by the door, big woolly hat too. None of it got used!

Yeah we did well with the hotel. Nice to be able to just walk down to the ship and get our bearings before we had to drop everything off. I want more fish and chips now hehe.

On Virtuosa we had to go to our room at 3 to watch safety video, dial a number on phone then go to muster station. No life jackets in our room they were at muster station. Rooms very similar to yours, except we had 4 drawers in dressing table bit. Yours wardrobes looked bigger and you had more coat hangers than we did. Bathroom about the same, shite shower and shave at the same time 😜😂 balcony same size I reckon. Your food looked nicer, more English looking food, ours was more Mediterranean type food. Our breads and desserts were superb. Think you had better shops as well, I didn’t see any Norwegian nick knacks on ours. Our ship was a very glitzy ship, the staff were also fantastic. Can’t wait to see more of your ship.
We never really got back to the shops! Did plan on filming them a bit and even forgot to buy any ship merch. Oh well, reason to book again. It was kind of funny watching your ship go past us playing YMCA and we just quietly left port an hour after
@@gemark1605 We are researching in going again in 2026, obviously want to do different stops to what we did. And a different ship to the virtuosa. The ship is stunning, the staff fabulous, but food was just ok and I never had 1 decent cocktail. Had 4 but stuck to Bacardi and coke and Peroni after. May be doing IOM in August, and Fuengirola sometime with family. Friends have gone there today so waiting for the report on the airbnb.

Enjoy your cruise went my first last year olsen expensive for port hole cabin but first class service and food ...enjoy guys I thought you had stopped doing this ..glad I found you ...enjoy your cruise ...
