Mr black well great matial artist and good to speak to you kenpo joe
Sir been doing kenpo for long time, and over years I’ve done this technique differently. Did not have pleasure of learning from Mr. Parker but as of now I simply changed the right forearm block into a strike. I strike the arms down, if I should miss an arm my strike continues to groin. I prefer it this way because it’s a much more aggressive way of doing it.
Ist degree black belt kenpo karate instructor your partner is a great man any videos of him he is the silent type thank you master
Thank You Sir. This technique was in my white to yellow belt requirement. Do you have more videos for all the yellow belt techniques? I have my Yellow Belt but I still feel that I had not really physically executed them well (awkwardness). Just finished watching Intellectual Departure and have to say I can't thank you enough for both these video demonstrations.
One small error -- Grasp of Death was a replacement for The Pincher. There were four techniques that were changed from the original 10 in the conversion from 32 to 24 techniques for belts above yellow. Other than that, I thought your presentation was great!
S Rhodes : thank you for your comment! Now, my question for you is what differentiates The pincher from grasp of death?
I'm sorry, but I disagree with you on this one. I think a downward block may easily cause your opponent to hit your belly or hips, while the inward horizontal block safely redirects the attack to the side.
Good video though.
Thank you for sharing your insights into the great art of Ed Parker Kenpo. I found the explanation of Alternating Maces referring to more than just the maces alternating very interesting and will always refer to these from this point onwards while doing and discussing this tech. Thanks again, Chris G. (Blue belt @ South Pacific Kenpo)
