    If you ever have space for one, the floor models do a better job of steaming, which I find saves enough time to add up over a pile of clothing. The nozzle and the hose are lightweight and small, so you can easily snake them up and inside the clothing, and steaming from the inside out does a better job for some reason.

    I bought a Samsung laser printer for $50 4 years ago, refill with generic toner from Amazon for $40 a year, buy 6x4 labels from the Dollar Tree (20 for $1). With a Rollo you can only print labels. I print labels, packing slips, and tax copies all on he same printer. Never going back.

(Being sure to buy a model with a bypass tray for heavy papers) I buy knock-off high yield toner on eBay (2pk).
      ***I totally agree to ditch the inkjet!***
      That ink is crazy expensive, like high-end perfume crazy expensive!

    I’m confess, I’m still old school with the label printing 😬 but I learned my lesson on the excessive tape use and instead use the clear adhesive label packing list/label loaders instead. It’s my understanding that you can even get them free from UPS but I ended up ordering some from Amazon when both USPS & UPS were out of many free shipping supplies during the pandemic. Those label loaders have been a HUGE savings over using packing tape to adhere the address labels.

    Thanks for another good video. You've sold me on the label printer. I was trying to make myself wait until it was absolutely necessary but I wasn't really considering and, for my printer, it's not cheap. I have one of those stand up steamers and I love it. I really can't imagine holding the tank in my hand like you do but I picked mine up cheap at an estate sale. Even at $100 it would be worth it, though. They have lint rollers in 2 packs at the dollar store, too. I don't know how I could live without that place.

  • @Curtishardy09
    @Curtishardy09 Před 3 lety

    Love my Rollo. Also have a Dymo that I use for Amazon. But the Rollo is excellent. I take it on the road with me and beat it to death and it just keeps going. Tailors Tape is a must (tape measure) flexible, small, easy to take a collar to cuff measurement bending it around the shoulder. I use a seam ripper once In a while and I cut out shoulder pads if needed. Needle and thread to tights button holes when needed or to see on a button. And everything goes in a poly bag as soon as it’s listed. So a good supply of clear polybags is a must for me. Also for suits or high end clothes I wrap in tissue paper. It impresses the customer. Especially when I’m selling a ladies evening jacket for $100-200. Presentation is important. Good vid. You do a great service.

    The box cutter that you paid a dollar for can be shaved into around 1/3 of the price. If you have a harbor freight in your area, or even possibly order them online, they are $.39 each and occasionally on sale for even less. The lint rollers (at the end of the season, not exactly sure which season, I apologize), but at the Dollar General I picked up some of the lint rollers at 75% off, so they were a quarter each and I bought everyone they had. 😃

Use more water if needed, and you might have to gently pull this way or that to help a stubborn spot. How does that Rollo Printer work with Poshmark labels printing out the mailing label plus the Order information? I use an 8 & 1/2" x 11" paper to print Poshmark labels. It looks like the Rollo is designed to print on 4" x 6" label paper.

    Can you please provide a link to the thermal printer and the roll of labels that you purchase? I am seriously considering switching to this kind of printer. I am just a part-time seller though. Do you think it's still worth it for me? I ship about 20 items a week.

    I keep hearing about thermal printers and haven't made the jump yet. I got my paper for free with the staples rebate and the free small customs envelopes from usps I use to hold the label. I only use $25 per year in toner. How much is it to run a thermal printer?

    A $100 thermal printer? Waste of money. Sorry but the double sheet of labels works just fine. Plus, I have a laser printer so they print fast. Savings is zero because you still have to buy the labels. What about these? - a sharpie, a good tape roller, box resizer, free boxes from the Post Office and , a shirt folder.

      Don't have a box resizer, don't like tape guns (I have a static desk unit that holds packing tape, prefer that). Post office boxes are mandatory of course. Shirt folder I don't know anything about.

    Hi,
    Not sure if you answer questions from the comment sections of your videos but I was just curious as to the exact benefits of steaming clothes. Do buyers care enough about wrinkles that it makes it worth my time to steam certain pieces instead of focusing on listing? Are steamers effective at removing certain stains? Just curious, I've been on the fence about getting one as I dont like to add time to the process of listing. Thank you for your videos and your potential future response to this comment.

    P.S. - Thank you for the tip on free UPS thermal labels. I'll be sure to only use them when I ship with UPS. Anything else would be simply unconscionable. I'm sure no one would take advatage of this.

    • @ThriftALife
      @ThriftALife  Před 3 lety

      Stains, no, not to my knowledge. It does make a difference in terms of photo quality. A shirt that's all wrinkled to hell looks bad in photos. I steam when I think it's going to cut into my profits. Also, if somebody were to hypothetically store something improperly, like a wool suit, a steamer is nice to have before shipping. I hear.

      Output varies from day to day. On big volume days it makes a major quality of life difference. At this point I would be annoyed to print out even a single label on inkjet.

    I learn a lot from your tutorials. However, I print my shipping label out at nearly no cost aside from the electricity. My ink cartridges I bought for $1.00 at the local bins where I pick up a lot of salable items. My paper, I use paper that has already been printed on. O use the side that hasn't been printed on. Yes it takes me approximately 2 minutes to cut out and tape my shipping label. I use the other half of the paper that I cut the shipping label from to supply a note pad. I have a wooden clipboard with a spring clip at the top to hold the paper in place. Short of is I take the few minutes to do this to "Reduce-Reuse-Recycle". You said that the taping of printed shipping labels on the package "looks stupid." Really? I never took you as someone who gave a fuck what people thought. I'll tell you what really looks STUPID. Is the massive amount of trash just tossed around. Like the woman with CZcams video, "Ship with me." She sits there peeling shipping label and producing massive trash. Yeah, that looks stupid. But nothing is going to be done about it so..... Hairy furface tornado said the same thing about cutting and taping shipping labels, "it looks stupid." No, all that trash floating up and down the coast, that looks stupid.
