All trucks including 2500 & 3500 are 3" higher in the rear from the factory. You are correct about why it's done this way. However, it causes a rougher ride with the back end being too light. Most level their trucks for the appearance. I did that with my Ram with Bilstein adjustable struts and added air bags to help when loaded. Better ride and still level when loaded.

These are actually 34" tires, not 33". Hey, every inch counts right? LOL
