That’s actually the best performance of the season by far. Complete domination from minute 1 to the full 90. All it took was to add Cucurella as the extra man in the middle for the squad to cook. Caicedo’s starting to play like his old self, and the backline looks lively without Disasi too, especially Trev cuz he’s cooking rn. Credit to where it’s due, Poch finally found the formula

@@sullytheg Nah, our offense has been free flowing like this even when Enzo’s there. It’s the leaky defense that caused us to dropped points unnecessarily this season. Without Disasi, our defense is much better including clean sheets against Everton, Spurs, and West Ham. We even only conceded one goal against City during the FA cup tie when Silva and Trev started that game. On the contrary when Disasi was there, we’re conceding 2 goals against Luton, Sheffield, and Burnley, conceding 4 goals against Wolves and conceding 3 goals against a toothless Man United team just to named a few. Not to mentioned Trev, Silva, and Badiashile all performed better when they’re paired with each other compared to when they’re paired with Disasi. It’s clear as day that he’s the cause of our leaky defense

Ngl I’m not the biggest badiashiel fan (have screamed at my tv constantly When he’s made mistakes over the course of this season lmao) but MANNNNNNN, when he plays with Thiago Silva he’s a completely different player
It only took...35+ games. 😮💨Every fan and their nan could see midfield was in issue since early on in season. Whatever happened to players not having experience and the injury issues? Literally a whole season of excuses. It's still 2 games only, I can still see the current setup getting exploited sooner or later; we'll have to adjust again if we keep Pochettino. But let's take it game by game.

I’ve been saying our leftside is dead for the whole season and this guy just now decides to use them. It always take injuries for him to make changes. Like chilwell off left wing, colwill off leftback, enzo and Gallagher off n10.
This time it took everyone being injured for him to invert cucurella.

Whenever Enzo plays he has Gallagher in front of him, 0 creativity. Now that he’s injured, galladog isn’t n.10 anymore and palmer is linking up everyone.
Poch needs to stay for stability's sake. The team is finally starting to click. Brining in a new manager just resets the process again. People keep talking about Amorim but we don't need another unproven manager. He could just be another Villas Boas. We should sort out our medical team, keep players fit and improve the harmony. If we do that, we can push for Champions League next year.
I better performance and results in our next 3 games then I'd agree with keeping Poch

Hence for me only Tuchel. Because ask yourself this, if the midtable mediocrity happens again with Pochettino next season then what do we do? A belated sack? Would be such a waste.
If we get TT back, he'll not only get more patience from fans but will also be a better gauge for the new players since we finished top 4 twice(and multiple finals) with him quite recently. If we still flail near midtable with him too, then it would be evident the squad has to be re-structured with better directors. That would be plan B.
For me that offers more clarity and better path for progression.

Us fans that understand football knew these types of performances was always there. We have lost so many point’s because of poor finishing, decisions making and referee decisions. That is why it was always crazy to talk about sacking pochettino

Poch looks to have found a way to get the best from this team. Gotta keep this up for the last 3 games for Europa league because Newcastle and United will drop points. If he pulls it off wouldn’t be against him getting another season.
Liverpool are 3-0 up against Spurs. If their horrid run continues, 5th place may still be up for grabs too but that's still kind of a longshot.

For me if we can get Tuchel back then I'd change even if he gets Europa. Pochettino has taken too long to tactically adjust. Everyone knew midfield was an issue structurally, yet we were sold the inexperience/injury excuse whole season. Cost us a season. No to mention his in-game management won't suddenly drastically improve.
Enzo injury has been a blessing. Poch said if he bench him the owners will kill him. They need to give the manager the freedom to play who he wants

We are playing better because of the change in tactical shape not because Enzo isn't playing.
If anything a 3241 shape with Enzo and Caicedo pivot would be even better.

What I found interesting throughout the match is how Reece James could fit in this system.
If we ask about that RCB where Chalobah is, who has been brilliant since he returned to the eleven, who is going to be better, James or Gusto?
Both James and Gusto can defend and attack well. But their methods of attacking is different. James is more like a solid tank, a reliable player who won't lose the ball and bombard forward and cross when able down the right side. While Gusto is like a thrusting lance, quick on his feet with his dribbles and pace who will pierce that right wing open.
The RCB at the moment requires a solid defensive skill, and an eye to break through the first line of defense using passes. In this case, I think James is more suitable in this role compared to Gusto. Not to mention that if James plays in this position, he doesn't need to run as much as how a traditional full-backs would. It would benefit him to not run as much and use his defensive and passing talent to the work.
Least to say, I'm excited to see James return from his injury and try out this new formation that we have. Not to mention that we have Chalobah who clearly able to play in that position well enough, and Gusto who can also play in that position.

Hats off to Madueke. I got to check myself for my assessment of him earlier in the season. I knew Jackson had the quality, great return for a first season in the prem
agreed. First half of the season i was not impressed by him and just wanted him to play like he does for England U21. Hes had a massive improvement in his game and his confidence, I'm excited for his future at Chelsea
That was some mad detective work when comparing us to arsenal and Brighton last season

The pre-season tactics have come back. Inverting LB, fluid movement in attack, runs in behind, killer through passes etc.
Why did he throw these tactics out the window for most of the season?

This is what happens when Poch actually coaches. We have the talent - the problem this year has always been coaching - the lack of tactics and adjustments. Poch actually provided adjustments during half time. Did he hire and assistant coach?

People love to focus on everything he does wrong and not what he does right. The team as a whole neeeds more stability and he will shine even more as it gets more and more stable. All I wanted was for him to achieve his dream of scoring as many goals as Drogba in his first season and im so happy hes done it already and possibly more to go. I like Jackson

Such a great performance, but I'm frustrated because Lewis Hall would elevate this tactical role Cucurella is playing so much its not funny 😭. Hall is less aggressive off the ball but has crossing and forward threat, and is so good at dribbling and breaking out of pressure. And Maatsen... these two players have played in midfield as part of their academy development. Sad to see. This is the sacrifices we're having to make for the money we spent on ugochukwu, casedei etc
If we’re gonna keep this buildup next season, then let James play that position. He’d be MUCH better.. Hopefully he stays fit. Let’s see if cashing in on Cucu makes sense. But the most important thing: do not sell Chalobah and do not sell Conor. Jackson doing his thing as usual. If he gets 15? How amazing would that be? He can only get better

IMO rather than selling Gallagher or Chalobah for pure profit, keep them and buy a cheap striker instead. This team is growing together and if you play sports you would understand that theres nothing scarier than bunch of potential players growing together. Find a $25-30m experienced striker and keep these players for next season.

We need to keep a manager for 3 years in a row minimum. If Poch makes Europa or Conference league we should keep him. If not, see what’s available. The players are young enough to learn a new system since it took Poch 30+ games to finally find his.
Madueke can’t be criticised for goal numbers and contributions imo his G/A per mins I think is the best in the team, don’t forget he didn’t play allot at the beginning of. I want to see full support for the gaffer as I’ve been calling for all Season. Poch In been superb

Pains me to say this but without Enzo, enabled poch to ditch his 3 man midfield consisting of gallagher, enzo and caicedo, which started and finished basically all our games. Now it feels like we have much more support in both sides of the pitch, we are more aggressive for the second balls, all our 3 centre look much assured on the ball (big up chalobah and badiashille) instead of just nervous clearence or losing the ball in midfield, cucurella brilliant pressing, caicedo dominating, big up jackson having faced so much stick in recent weeks, big up noni for helping him score his first and bursting into the box or cutting in and taking shots. Man, i am feeling immensily proud of the boys and i cant contain my happiness . Great to Nkunku coming back and a fresh bench. im sure enzo comes back stronger and will play without his pain .

If poch leaves we aren’t the same top club that can get any manager we want, we would have to go for an inexperienced manager which they will complain about because he would need time too. Cucurella has been really good but I actually think when Enzo is fit. CAICEDO playing the same role inverting from RB would be perfect. He can play at RB as well.
That way, when we are in the 3241 shape we can play Enzo/Caicedo pivot with Gallagher pushing high up the pitch AND we can still play Palmer in the 10.
Either way this 3 2 shape at the back is far far better than what Poch was doing before.
