    The Gordie Howe International Bridge project is a once-in-a-generation undertaking. Not only will the project deliver much-needed transportation improvements for international travellers, it will also provide jobs and opportunities for growth to the Windsor-Detroit region and includes features that make this project truly distinctive.
    The project is being delivered through a public-private partnership (P3). A public-private partnership is a long-term performance- based approach to procuring public infrastructure where the private sector assumes a major share of the risks in terms of financing and construction and ensuring effective performance of the infrastructure, from design and planning, to long-term maintenance.

    Thank you for this. I have commuted from downriver for three years watching this happen. They have moved TONS of dirt in the past 3 weeks building roads and freeway walls.

    That was cool. I live in Charleston SC. I watched the Arthur Ravanel Bridge go up. Similar cable design. The towers are about 650’ tall

      @@refich Per Wikipedia, The USA, and Michigan did not pay for the construction. "In June 2012, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Michigan Governor Rick Snyder announced an agreement allowing the project to proceed.[26] The Canadian federal government would fund bridge construction, land acquisition in Michigan, and the construction of Interstate 75 on-ramps. The Canadian contribution will be repaid from bridge tolls collected on the Canadian side, and no tolls will be charged on the U.S. side.[27] The crossing agreement also included community benefits for residents on both sides of the Detroit River, including improvements to local neighbourhoods affected by bridge construction."

      @@TonyK3130 Wasn't referring to payment but to it even being built because Canada needed it so much. Detroiters, as they always havem saw their land used for the needs of commerce.

    You know what would be a much more cool project to see completed ? A nation wide pipeline so we could more easily export our industry leading western oil products.

    Hey, I thought you said this is “no fly zone”.

    • @QuezWatkins-uy9vd
      @QuezWatkins-uy9vd Před 9 měsíci +1

      No Fly Zone for public drones. These zones are everywhere around the world and are critical to safety. As owners of this sensitive piece of infrastructure, they should be posting videos of progress for transparency purposes, as they are using Canadian taxpayer money to build it. Having any Joe and Joan fly a drone over the construction site would be reckless and dangerous.

      How so? If drone pilots are in compliance with FAA regulations then how is it dangerous?@@QuezWatkins-uy9vd
