The Utila 1.0 was already a well received wallet. I took a bold move upgrading it because I didn't wish to ruin it. However, I am glad I took the risk. I am very happy with all the changes and I hope you are as well.

Okay Kervin, now you've done it! Norbert , here. Just when I thought my Zela 2.0 was perfect you've produced the Utila 2.0. You may remember initially I considered the Utila 1.0 but, like some customers didn't like the fact that the edges of the bills would stick out unless you tucked the flap over the bill instead of inside the pocket. But, as you know, I prefer my bills to be accessible like a traditional bifold rather than being folded in half. But I reasoned that I don't use bills as often as cards and the front and back compartments of the Zela are perfect for a total of 4 of my usual 8 cards to retrieve without needing to unsnap. So with Utila 2.0 the rear compartment functions, I think even more easily than the front or rear of the Zela, push the card out! 2 cards in the back. So with the slot I think you should be able to put 2 cards in the slot and it functions as easily as the Zela. But now bills can be placed in a horizontal position that permits me to pick out what I need without having to expose all of the bills which you have to do when you withdraw folded bills from the Zela bill compartment. I agree that with the dimensions of Utila 2.0 being .47" wider than the Zela, it might be better suited for the back pocket, but I think given that it is .27' shorter than the Zela the extra width doesn't eliminate it's use as a front pocket wallet. The 2mm extra thickness translates to .078" so essentially not much if any, of a difference. I think your design upgrades are very well thought out and practical. The Utila was never a totally minimalist wallet but its total functionality makes it a worth classifying it as a big minimalist wallet. Great job. 👍

Norbert, I believe, if I remember correctly, the updated Utila 2.0 had as goal #1 to cover the bills better, as a result of your comment in the past. It is important to give constructive feedback and you do this very well. Thank you for your feedback, your time, and for being part of the Patepluma family 😊

I was intrigued by the Utila before, but I didn't think I'd like the bills sticking out the front side when put in the bill compartment, so I didn't seriously consider one. This 2.0 version definitely looks like a better overall design to me, and I think there might be one for me in the future when I'm ready to buy more wallets. Very nice!

I have 2 of the First Utila wallets…..I think the new 2.0 design changes are absolutely amazing🙂👍🏻You took a huge gamble in changing the wallet and it paid off… plus you added a mini version. I will definitely be getting a full size version of the 2.0 version soon.

The changes are a huge W in my opinion. Great work! I need to get over my concern of having a button on my wallet so I can experience one of these.

Thank you! Glad you approve. Do you mean the snap closure button? These are the best in the market, very solid. PLUS, Patepluma wallets come with life warranty. If that button breaks 5 years from now or more, send your wallet back to me and I will replace it no questions ask :)

@@PateplumaCo.I’m more concerned about scratching other things in my pocket. I love the look but don’t trust that I’d keep things out of the same pocket that might get scratched.

@@rson451 Anytime you put things in the same pocket they are bound to collide especially when moving around….I myself carry a Utila wallet in one pocket and anything like my phone or a nice pocket knife I carry in opposite pocket or a small edc bag…..The buttons on the wallet are high quality and work great….If you’re going to put something in your pocket with the wallet and you’re worried about them bumping into each other,Just turn your wallet around where the button is touching your leg and the back of the wallet is facing out👍🏻

@@rson451 I understand. I personally never scratched anything. The snaps are nicely polished. I think before you scratch something with it, instead, you might scratch the button with something else 😜

Nice Video! The Utila 2.0 seems like an upgrade in everyway! Can you show in a future video if the Utila 2.0 Mini can hold U.S. Bills Vertically with the flap exactly like you showed for the standard size one? I want to see how U.S. Bills would looked tucked that way. Thank you in advance and keep up with the good designs and showcase vids!

Thank you. Glad you like the upgraded design. To answer your question, no, the Utila Mini would not be able to accommodate USDs standing vertically. The design of the Mini is more with cards in mind than bills. So unfortunately, it is not wide enough for bills standing vertically. USDs will fit when folded in half when in the cash compartment though. Hope you find this helpful :)
