@@Ethan-dn1wc The casting is spot on i must Say. The casting process far as i know have been never fully disclosed but for interviews we know that there's 3 members of the cast who actually did an audition but the circunstances were weird.
Stephanie Beatriz actually did her audition for the role of Amy, he actually knew Melissa was looking for it too. She later found that Melissa was cast. And she did think that she would never have another chance cause normally the shows don't cast more than one latin actor, she later get a call for the Rosa Part. Terry Crews did an audition and the producers found him very funny but he didn't fit any character they had but they liked him so much and think about how much he can do for the show that they created his role specially for him.
