Had problems finding the mod folder I wager? That's the one part that I actually had to search when I wanted to install it.

I would kiss you right now I’m soo happy. It took me countless hours of my day to figure out how to download mods on the windows ten since most of the CZcams videos assume you know the basics. But I’m a complete newbie to computers so again thanks.
Thank you so much for making this. It was almost shocking how nobody has made a video on this topic. One question I did have though, which mod is best for a United States playthrough?
The USA is an important country, so both mods include content for it. The only difference is that HFM's content will be more railroad-y than HPM's.
I would recommend too the HFM submod HFM More Stuff, that adds a good amount of new content for the US (go on an anti-European crusade to kick them off the New World, reform the US as the CSA with the Articles of Confederation in case it has balkanized, play as New Africa, etc.).

I covered the changes made to Africa and Asia at 2:35 . While it's still true that I neglected Europe, the changes there are minimal.

HFMs westernization is straightforward while HPMs requires u to remove a certain modifier if ur nation doesnt have a writing system

You should have also mentioned HFM De-railroaded that gives the option to play the current update of HFM without the Scramble for Africa railroading that's choice was removed the the most recent updates.

If I wanted to play HPM, but didn't like the fact that I have to wait until 1850 (for nationalism and imperialism) to make Germany, and I wanted to, say, half the infamy I get by adding Austria to me, do you know where in the mod files I'd need to go to change that?
(Really I just want to remove the requirement of Nationalism and Imperialism for the "Form the NGC" decision and the "Three Hurrahs for German" decision, and I want to half the infamy for the big popup you get when you try and form Großdeutschland and annex the entire Austrian Empire so I'm only a little over the infamy limit)

Happy New Year, mate! Finally broke my PDS Grand Strategy break today to play Vicky2 on my new laptop. Which nations would you recommend playing in HPM if I wanted to have some fun? Doesn't really matter to me whether it means map-painting or stabilizing a state peacefully.
Sardinia-Piedmont > Italy is always fun. You can also try creating a theocratic Italy by forming it through the Papal State, which is a lot harder. Another fun challenge is Sweden > Kalmar Union. Your manpower is very limited, but Scandinavia, being rather navy-oriented, can easily create a nice sized empire for itself.

POP Demand Mod is/was a great idea, but too overambitious; the economy just can’t handle the additions the mod brings to the game, sadly.

@@CallMeEzekiel I'd actually be content with basically Vic2 with all expansions and I guess the HPM stuff, with updated graphics and maybe a few mechanics that have worked in EU 4, something like the HRE for the German Confederation. But yeah I do get your point.

Good video. Slight critique: odd palcement of the mod download tutorial. It ain'T a bad idea to make a video in regards of it, but it was kinda randomly (= MIDDLE) in there.
HPM, kinda says we do alt hist ,too- based on the description you read. Maybe to show how much al-histy they are flash their fomrable nations names/flags on screen and HPMs. Also alot of ppl like those formables and prob. choose based on those who/what to play...
I don't understand why the organization of my armies is so few. I can't increase it. It doesn't matter which country I'm playing... what's happening??
You might not be funding them. Check taxes screen and make sure your army is funded on the taxes screen.. It's not military funding, which encourages soldier and officer pops but army funding which is used to buy supplies for actual soldiers in the field. Top right side, just above navy and construction funding sliders.
@@prussianmenace thank you. I was a begginer 2 weeks ago, but now I realize what I had to do. I found out that I can put an encourage soldier focus on a province, which will make my soldier's population grow and my army can increase. You're right. I didn't pay attention to the sliders.
@@armandomoraes3429 Yeah, I play quite a bit but I still miss some stuff. Managed to lose my army at the very start of American Civil War because I forgot to fund my army. :D Keep at it, though. The more you play, the easier it gets because you quickly realise what you can ignore :D

I often play with HPM because South America's decisions and plot are totally wrong in the original game and I know that 'cause I'm Brazilian, so I was very disturbed with that. Another thing that makes me feel angry is to unite Italy... I lost the count of how many times I tried to do that following the History's path and I fail miserably because I forgot to manage my army... so sad : (
@@armandomoraes3429 Italian unification is a bitch. Historically Sardinia-Piedmont relied on France to do the fighting for them in the first round and then Prussia in the second. In-game it's not fucking easy to rely on AI allies to help you out.

I followed the download process step by step for HPM, but once I unzip the folder nothing happens. It unzips, but doesn't pop up in my game.
There are a few things you can try. First is to just do everything over again. If that doesn't work, check which folder you're unzipping into. It's possible you set the wrong destination.

in HPM my flags are all messed up, mainly in the americas. America has some kind of middle eastern style flag, and france has a white flag lol, if anyone could help id appreciate that

I do have a question. I followed the step to open Steam, but nothing happened. I continued on opening the file, clicke on "mod" and it only showed a "dummy" text file. Can anyone help me?
You copy your mod to that folder, the dummy text ensures the folder is made
The instructions on how to get to local files in Steam is about to be out-of-date. With the new update coming out, you simply right-click the game's name and it gives you the option.
I don't know if this is a question for here; but when I go to unzip/extract the HPM download with 7zip, there is no "Extract Here" option, in fact there are no options at all, I can only click "7zip console" and after I do that, nothing happens.
Try using a program other than 7-Zip like WinRAR or Windows 10's native extraction feature. Alternatively, try re-downloading the mod and/or 7-Zip.

You just delete the note pad file. Then create a new file and name it “mod”
i cant unzip it in the folder, i have windows 11 so idk if that changes things but i dont get that option when i right click it. i even downloaded 7zip

you need both a house divided and heart of darkness expansions, otherwise the mods will not work

Which one is better for new players? Or new players shouldn't download this mods?
Both mods make the game more complicated. So learning with them may make things harder for you. However, if you're intent on playing with one of the mods, just play with it from the start so you don't have to relearn anything. Of the two, HPM is easier, and in my opinion, better overall.

I know you struggle to answer to everybody but I didn't find answers to my questions anywhere. I feel pretty dumb to ask because I have 200+ hours on Vic 2 and ~2500 on all paradox games...
I couldn't fully download HFM (it said there was an error). I deleted all of these files and HPM, just in case, yesterday. Today I was able to download everything but HFM doesn't work. I checked the little box but my HFM is vicky 2 on vanilla. I was able to install HPM, CWE, DoD and some other mods but HFM cursed me I think lol. Do you know how I can fix HFM please ?

In regards to your technical trouble... this is going to be a tough one. Here are some things to try:
1. Check to make sure that you're downloading HFM from the right source. Check the video for details.
2. Make sure that your anti-virus program(s) aren't the source of the problem.
3. Try downloading from a different web browser. If you're using Chrome then try *shudders* Microsoft Edge
4. Try downloading HFM on a different computer. If that works: manually transfer via a flash drive or something similar.

If install HFM or HPM and load a previous, not modded, save will it cause issues?
Also your tutorials for Victoria 2 have really helped me out so thanks a lot.
Vanilla not-modded save will not work in HFM/HPM and most other mods. It will either crash or you will have broken pops/map. You need to start a new game.
I cant extract any files when I try to its say there is an error and also when I download then they are download into WinRAR files
Try extracting using WinRAR instead of 7-Zip.

Should i learn to play the base game before trying one of the mods? I have thousands of hours in eu4, ck2, and stellaris, so I'm used to paradox games
The answer to that question is going to be up to you. What I will say is that learning with HPM will make things slightly harder as it adds more moving parts to the game. Learning with HFM will be even harder, as it can railroad you at times. HFM also happens to be a bit buggy.

Most of the differences between the base game and the mods are explained in the video. If there's anything in particular that you would like to know more about, please let me know. In regard to the decisions at the start of the game, they're mostly just a way to change the mod's settings. So they can be ignored.

My questions is, can each uncivilized nation be made a protectorate? if this is the case. How can I make the event come out to make them protectorates? or it only works with some specific nations like Sokoto, Egypt, Ethiopia ?
@@taysea7v The only case of an uncivilized nation turning into a protectorate via event is Egypt. The rest you'll have to conquer manually. Note that this can work differently in some mods.

I wanted to play the CSA in HPM, so i startet in 1836 and added slavery only to the states the original CSA had but when i spawned as the CSA I also had some weird states like nebraska or kansas which i didnt want and which didnt even have slavery. Is there any way to get the original CSA Borders with a 1836 HPM Start? Or are there any other mods that do it better?
I think its based on if the majority culture is Dixie culture in a state means that the state joins the CSA.
Hey I can't find a 7Z progarm to extract it. I think I might have 1 called "BreeZip" but It still doesn't pop up in the mods thing when I boot up the game. Help!
Like I said in the video: your file might look different than mine. The difference of name is probably due to you having a different unzipper.
As long as you followed the steps in the video correctly, regardless of what the program you used to extract the files, the mod should work. Since it's not working, I'd recommend that you delete everything having to do with the mod and do the whole process over again. Be extra careful that you follow the instructions this time. If the issue persists: let me know and provide screenshots so I can better diagnose the problem. Good luck!

It sounds like the mod hasn't been installed properly. Try uninstalling and reinstalling it again. Be extra careful to follow the instructions this time. If that doesn't work: try uninstalling and reinstalling both Victoria II and the mod.

@user-oj6ih7ke8p make sure the .mod file is out of the folder and make sure that the rest of it is in the first hpm folder inside of mode bot another folder inside of that, that was my problem
you really skipped over the whole 7 zip thing fo0r downloading hpm, I'm kinda lost the moment you say "7 zip"
7-Zip is a program used to uncompress files. A lot downloadable software comes compressed. This makes the download smaller but unusable. So you'll need to use a program like 7-Zip to make it usable.

Victoria 2 is basically unplayable for me without the HPM mod or any other like DoD.
Seriously, it adds so much content and also fixes many issues with the vanilla Vic 2.
