I was listening to the radio when they announced that Minnie passed away from breast cancer, as a fan I was in total shock. Her sound had me captivated, I would play her music so much that a friend of mine would say " If you don't play something else I'm gonna scream" I'd laugh and continue to sing but her 5 active range I couldn't touch.

OMFG, this is the 1st time that I have actually heard this original. I inherited my uncles massive vinyl collection and he had a heap of her records. Her voice is amazing and her high 'whistle' notes put Mariah Carey to shame. I love listening to stuff he listened too, he was a Motown fan from the beginning and his collection is full of beautiful soul, R&B, bluegrass etc. I'm blessed to be the curator of his music but so sad to have to sell them off as per his wishes 😢

I'm born too late for the 70s (I was born in the early 90s) but I have goosebumps on how Minnie Riperton sounds live. I came across her because of Lovin' You from my mom's mixtape and fell into a rabbit hole of her songs. She sounds exactly the same as her recordings which is extremely rare with artists nowadays.

I "discovered" her recently and became very impressed and sad in knowing she's passed so Young, like our Brazilian singer Elis Regina. This world don't deserves someone like this woman. Rest in peace.

I'm born too late for the 70s (I was born in the early 90s) but I have goosebumps on how Minnie Riperton sounds live. I came across her because of Lovin' You from my mom's mixtape and fell into a rabbit hole of her songs. She sounds exactly the same as her recordings which is extremely rare with artists nowadays.
