- Everton began the 2021/22 season with a 3-1 win against Southampton in front of a packed Goodison Park. Richarlison and Abdoulaye Doucoure struck after Adam Armstrong gave the visitors the lead against the run of play - and Dominic Calvert-Lewin sealed it with a diving header.

Was a good starting line up. Clear with Demarai and Andros the remit is to get those crosses in for DCL & Richy. Only issue is the CB pairing. Keane only looks comfortable with Mina.

Great come-back by Everton against Southampton in the second-half in Rafael Benitez's first match. The atmosphere at Goodison was magnificent, too.
The Everton goals were also superbly executed, Doucoure's obviously the best of the three. And Calvert-Lewin's goal reminded a couple of Andy Gray's Everton goals in the 1980's😉.

Strange what going forward does , under last 3-4 manager horizontal and backwards , even Pickford playing long balls to get us on the attack instead of playing a game of chess.
It's good to see Pickfords lethal volleys actually be utilized as they should be - what he lacks in composure he certainly makes up for in his ball delivery.
