    I noticed on the S22 that my wife received that you can see into the top earpiece slit and there appears to be no mesh whatsoever. It appears wide open to the internals of the phone. Can you comment on how the waterproofing and top speaker/microphone are designed to work on that area? I'm worried we got a defective unit since I don't see how that area being left exposed can be protected from water.

    • @RestoreTechnique
      @RestoreTechnique  Před 2 lety +5

      Nah that's normal, same on mine. That earpiece slit channels to the top speaker waterproof mesh, as seen at 8:53.
      This is probably why the front camera is glued in with silicon, as it is very close to the earpiece slit.
      Edit: The top microphone has a separate hole at the top, which again channels to a waterproof membrane as seen at 8:53.

    since the Eye phones have 512gb on lower end models I think samsung should do 512gb variants of their s and s+

    If I mistakenly poke the mic hole near the sim card slot using sim ejector, will it destroy the waterproof seal or even the mic itself?
    I hate they put the mic hole near sim card slot.

      I did the same thing lol!
      It won't damage anything. That mic hole channel takes a right angle turn before it reaches the mic and waterproof gasket mesh.
      At 8:47 you can see the lower microphone gasket/mesh.
