I finally got ahold of one of these in east Tn 12-30-21. Got it with a 25"es sprocket nose. The stihl light bars are like trying to find Hens teeth right now. I haven't touched wood with it yet but I can say that it is the easiest starting stihl I have ever had. I have never really heard nothing but praise for this saw.

I'm excited for you- glad to hear it starts well! I bet that 25" bar will be sweet on there!

does it oil well with a 25" bar or did you upgrade the oiler?

I was cutting with the 261 and it started raining. A week later I noticed my chain brake was hard to set. Some compressed air and spray lube got it back nice and smooth.
Nice demo, the 400 will be my next purchase. Thanks

Picked up a 400 in Tennessee (West TN) this past August..I'm really enjoying it seems to be the perfect balance of more than enough without being excessively too much for everything I need to do..

arding the clutch cover, only the first 11 numbers count. That C and 4 other numbers aren't indicative of the part, but of the batch, so they keep track in the factory. So the clutch covers for both those saws are one and the same.

I got the ms 362 and I enjoy it . Got the captive bar nuts and it does require the power saw tool to take off the top cover like your 400c

the 400 has a different carb, and different coil than the 362, but I don't know if it's just an upgrade, or a different design. Thanks for the video.

The one thing I can say is the 500 I lives to breath and deep two I modif😮 my cover to allow more air to filter but that’s the only thing I did she seems to run very nice with more air. But I love my stinks I 1 st got 251 c then 261 and 179 for limbs then I got a month ago my 500 I I may buy a 661 and a 462 idk

Awesome stuff!! I currently have 261 and 362. Im looking to run a 32 inch bar and want a Big saw 70cc and up. What one would you choose 462 500i 661. I would like a 500i R but some people are saying you need to change the air filter because it lets dust into the engine. Then others say you need to change the suspension if you want to run a long bar as the saw flexs to much with a long bar... The 500i seams like more of a screamer then 661. And the 661 is like 2lbs heavier and seams like its got more grunt down low not up high. IDK. I ALSO might do some Mill work with a chainsaw mill I have some HUGE pine logs at my camp that are just sitting in a pile. Id love a Woodmizer but they are not cheap.

Well Pat... The Stars and the Moon must have lined up. My dealer called me last week and said he got 4 ms400s in. I grabbed one with a 20 inch light bar. So far so good and I'm impressed. It needs an outer spike tho... Any ideas what that part number might be? I might see if the outer spike that I put on my 261c fits and matches the inner one... Cheers!

@@aroundtheshop9615 ... I figured it out pat. If you want to put an outer bumper spike on the 400c the part number is 0000-660-0800 for the kit. I don't think you can get em individually.
