Also Turbo’s rapping, only the second verse goes from record, but he’s actually doing it too, so it’s doubled as you can hear. However 90’s dance music was mostly lip-syncing unfortunately, it was very rare if someone actually sang during performances. This video is from one of those occasions and it’s awesome. There’s another Snap video from ‘91 on youtube, where a whole band with Turbo and another lady is playing Mary.. and The Power, and it’s 100% live which is a miracle. I saw Dr. Alban in 1994 on his Look Who’s Talking tour performing with a whole band 100% live, another rare moment in dancefloor history.

@@akerockstar a lot of this was improv, Turbo started experimenting with the drums and just added it to the show. Also, you can hear Penny talking to the Apollo crowd while she's singing, so a lot of it was spontaneous. So you will probably just hear parts of this version never an exact copy. We feed off the energy from the crowd which made the show great.
When I was younger, I swear I thought the singer was a fat woman (cos I only listened to it and never really watched the video). Damn, she’s small but her voice really got “The Power”! :D
