Dissection sounds better live then 99.9% of bands do on their albums, flawless.

This is such a dark and metaphoric song. I love the part where the female backing vocals kick in.
Looks like he was in a pretty bad place and, not sure if you are familiar, committed suicide after that tour.
    Cool t-shirt btw. :)

He actually meant to commit suicide! He wrote that he's served his time and purpose in this life and it's time to fulfill the next installment of his life!

He wasn't depressed, it was an expression of his Satanic faith.

He wasnt in a bad place, he committed suicide not out of depression but in line with his beliefs

I much rather prefer the earliy years of Dissection, cold, dark and evil sounding black metal with great melodic parts. You should listen to the "The Somberlain" and "Storm of the Light's Bane" albums if you want to experience true Dissection.
The song "Black Horizons" is a great example of this. Other great songs are "Night's Blood" and "Thorns of Crimson Death".

Gonna add Black Horizons and Thorns.

He definitely has to listen Somberlain + Thorns of Crimson Death and than can judge to this band and their style! Those are "true" Dissection songs! Epic stuff!

The first albums are great, but I think they lacked the sophistication and focus that Reinkaos had. At its heart, "Reinkaos" may be one of the most intense albums in metal simply because it laid out Jon's intimate worldview, and he wrote it knowing it was essentially his epitaph, then killing himself for his beliefs shortly after.

Haha it is still a ways away unfortunately. It's the only downfall to having so many people enjoy the channel is that I am over 200 requests and need to do them in order if I am going to please everyone.

This whole album is a masterpiece of metal! Did you even realize there are no bass guitars in the entire album (not the live version)? Check out Black Dragon off the same album, but honestly, due yourself a favor and listen to the entire album! \m/
