The fact an actual Thai factory making Bart toys caught fire, and over 189 people were killed is uncanny. The melted Bart toys became a symbol of the toy factory tragedy. RIP victims.
Fact: This actually was similar to a real factory named KADER in Taiwan, there was a fire that ended lives of a lot of people and destroyed the building in 1993, they produced large vinyl Bart Simpson dolls made by Dan Dee when the simpsons first aired, you can see them all squashed on some photos of the collapsed building.

I love it, I read the book Springfield confidential, and basically they got to banksy through the producers of exit through the gift shop, and he comes on to totally shit on them, and I always wondered what the animators thought in Korea and I just read that he said simply, "we loved it, our Korean animators did not."
Aside from the unicorn Banksy did a great job reminding us of the terrible imprisonment Asia is going through to animate our cartoons and make merch and DVDs
It's so gross to me that so many people are commenting that the writers, Fox and Banksy are terrible people when they are just bringing a very serious issue into the light in an interesting and entertaining way. When Banksy was asked to do this couch gag he said that he would not do it unless Fox and the producers of the show used 100% exactly what he gave them, and they agreed. It's not meant as a bad thing, it's meant to stimulate critical thinking of society and what no one thinks about when they are the privileged consumers, not the unfortunate unprivileged people slaving away for western culture. This show is an incredible social commentary of the world we live in and it saddens me that there are so many ignorant people willing to comment on how terrible this is and how much they hate Banksy. Get your priorities in check.

Seeing the 20th Century Fox structure, arguably the most iconic film studio logo, with all these dystopian buildings surrounding it, with barbed wire fences going around the perimeter, as the music winds down to a close upon a starry night background. Searchlights still scan the sky, but now have a darker purpose, to catch escaping workers. It just resonates with me, and I think it’s a cool, and dark take on the most iconic logo of all time.
For what its worth, AKOM, the South Korean based company that does most of the animation, weren't pleased with this gag, since they felt it was degrading them and their work. Not criticizing either Banksy or the show, just relaying what I've read.

Banksy does a good job with the dark behind the scenes shenanigans that goes down, not just in animation but fast fashion in general and how dark the fur industry is - I’ve seen some disturbing videos on that subject (don’t search) but it is pretty accurate to the cartoon with the animals crammed into the cages etc

So in this scene while we still watch the Simpsons, Banksy is reminding us that behind the creation of animating this cartoon are actually being made in a harsh and a abuseful industry in China, Korea, etc.
Actually, Korean office that does animation for Simpsons is very comfortable with great working environment. Banksy did a great job with this opening couch gag, but don't take it too seriously.

It didn't seem very funny at all though, and they didn't say fox isn't like this... maybe they are just admitting they are evil but that seems so counterintuitive that we can't accept the obvious.
