This is probably my favorite interview Cassandra has done yet. Anaam is so real and relatable, i just love her!
I was so confused at the beginning, washing your face once a week?! And not a single blemish? And then I find out that it's not using a foaming face cleanser nor water. Which is what I've been doing for the past few months, just a balm and essence. Works for my dry skin perfectly! Besides, water in my country is so hard, it affects my hair and skin
@@Vineethajojothat would be a mistake if you have dry skin. Air drying skin in general makes it dryer then padding it dry with a towle. That is one of the first lessons a nurse learns: allways dry your hands after washing to avoid getting dry skin on them (nurses need to keep extra care of their hands as all the washing, disinfecting etc. is really heavy on the skin)
Crazy thing but I feel like my skin looks best when I don’t touch it 🥲 like toner serum etc*
The Charlotte Tilbury dupe for $14 that Cassandra suggested is the only cream that does not puff my mom’s under eyes + works w/makeup.
I fell in love with Anaam. Such a personality and you both totally vibed. It was such a natural conversation of two people being passionate about the same things.
Wow they are both so sweet. It feels like they have a genuine friendship and enjoying each other's company.
The idea of mixing sunscreen with moisturizer makes me nervous 😮😮😮😮
Finally somebody with skin as dry as mine!!
U two r so darn cute 2gether… love the interactions. I’ve nvr heard of her but love how real she is 😊
So good toner pads are amazing!! I’m super happy to see Soo product here.
Hi Cassandra! I loved this video, your guest Aanam was great!! Something that really stood out to me was when you both talked about the ingredients marketing dosage vs performance. Could you make a video talking more about this topic?
I see a lot of cosmetics now claiming to having hyaluronic acid and other actives in it. It would be nice to know more information about this so we don’t fall for the marketing dosage when shopping😊
I love how real she is❤️❤️❤️❤️.... good job cassandra
Thank you so much for doing a collab like this I’m a very dry girlie myself so I can’t wait to see the other videos reviewing your recommendations :) thanks for making me smile you ladies have such a fun energy together and I love skincare talk.
While on my end, I developed pimples at 48 years old when I stopped washing my face in the morning and night with a face wash.
I love learning of cultural differences between beauty/ skincare. I’d love to be a part of this conversation. Also Cassandra my dream would be for your to make me a skincare kit 🥰💕
Gosh I love Aanam & to have you & her together is just fantastic
I love how Americans believe that India is hotter place than USA. Fun fact the hottest area in India is Sri Ganganagar with highest temperature records of 50 degrees Celsius... Death Valley averages 49 degrees every summer in USA and has hottest World Record 57 degree Celsius set in 2023
well im from mn. india feels hotter to me. esp because there isnt ac everywhere
I use a natural bar of soap, anything works. And I use Cera Ve moisturizer. My skins beautiful. But I have eczema and small pores
Wow!!!! Two of my favourite CZcamsrs together 🎉🎉🎉
Oh I love her! Thanks for introducing her to me today ❤
She has a new follower 😊
A lot of older people I know do not wash their face that often because their skin got dryer after say menopause. My mom for one but she is rather extreme considering that she is still a tad oiler than average. I should say she is starting to get more milia(?) now which she never had before. She is quite literally a case of someone blessed by genetics not knowing what to do for her skin; the icing on the top though is that she just does not care. She isn't vain about her appearance, like at all. I am both grateful and nervous for that trait of hers.
While I wash my face daily.. there were times I experimented with not washing my face while dealing with acne or skin changes and interestingly, I noticed some times my skin looked BETTER than when I was washing. I’d love to hear from a dermatologist about this
either your water, your cleanser, or your skin is better suited to less washing. could also be hormonal. just go with the flow lol. its hard to know for sure
Beautiful Cassandra, please review the new Acure laser treatment…
What a beautiful soul! ❤
I also like to wait maybe 15 minutes after I apply sunscreen to put on makeup!
Anam is literally so Honest ya!
@@AanamC Shining So high and making us Proud✨✨. This was the exact new alteration that I was initially asking you to kindly adopt.
We love, You diving into such unexplored spaces 🌸🌸
me next, I'm no good at usin the right things my main concerns is hyperpigmentation (I am 40 so I do use antiagin, but not as worried about that). I also did an online face analysis and showed I'm dehydrated and I never thought I was. oily t-zone not to bad tho.
Foxtale does have a tinted sunscreen with 3 shades 1 for light skin, 1 for medium and 1 for dark skin... There are also bb creams with spf 50 pa++++ being launched with quite a bit of shades( which you can apply like a sunscreen with two fingers because its a bb cream so it has light coverage and it's india so the prices are pretty affordable)... Also brands like reequil and deconstruct, while having only a shade of sunscreen, have tint which is quite deep so that it caters to the deeper skin tones... I believe anam might not be aware of some of these brands.... Also I feel the problem of having only one shade of tinted sunscreen is not only reserved for india... So many popular sunscreens in the US also have only one shade...
Ps: I feel some Indian indie brands are much better than many american brands. They provide the same if not better quality products at affordable prices(India is a price sensitive market)...
Also, Himalaya has biodegradable makeup wipes..
Was she living under the rock?
I just don't get it.. even nykaa has that
@@scienceislove2014True but the packaging usually isn’t biodegradable, so using them on a regular basis is a bit pointless as they don’t remove debris as well as water/cleansing products, and because of that add waste that serves no real purpose in skin care. (Same applies to some other skin care products I.e most eye creams.) At least with some cleansers you can get refills/glass packaging, and even if you can’t, it’s more effective at cleansing.
Also not to mention is the term biodegradable uniform in definition? There’s still concern over things like micro pollution.
I love this so damn much 😩. I'll be waiting for Aanam's review and I'd also LOVE to see Cassandra try out some Indian brands. I really hope she's able to try Dot & Key because it was like the one and only brand I was able to find in India that I thought was good and was accessible to me in Punjab and I feel like they're one of the very few brands actually doing products that align with the west. They also released new sunscreens that were surprisingly good as well and I remember Cass saying that Frudia was similar to them which IT WAS?!? Love Cassandra though I would be THRILLED to meet her one day because I don't think I've seen an "influencer" or content creator nearly as genuine as her.
minimalist seems similar to western brands to me imo. havent tried or used dot and key.
Dot & Key is the worst! It has cute packaging but the worst ingredients girl! & super perfumed that it gets irritating ugh
I love the fact you love desi beauty secrets ❤❤❤❤
she's perfect
She’s so beautiful and sweet ❤
when is the Indian skincare products review coming Cassandra , we are waiting eagerly to hear your opinions on it
the thing about full collection and shades is so asia to not have options
I’ve tried an oil to foam cleanser and it dried me out so bad 😩 also the Pacifica vegan ceramide cleanser was also too drying for me but all in all I loved this video. Thanks Cass 🩵
THIS VIDEO IS VERY EXCITING TYVM TO YOUR GUEST CASSANDRA ❤❤❤😊😊😊
So interesting that she talks of chronic dark circles + hollow under eyes. I have had the exact same issue my whole life. Am also South Asian and i think for brown women this condition is so much more common...like, our under eyes are a whole other level 😂
@@21972012145525 yeah, and our skin is more prone to hyper pigmentation compared to Caucasian skin.
Very interesting ! That was fun !
Shout out to Conscious Chemist. I'm in love with their Vitamin C SPF 30 PA+++++
@Aanam's #Wearfam here❤
Ummm, I think Annam probably only shops from nykaa but on the back of my head I can recall 6-7 sunsticks that have been launched in India in the past few months: minimalist, aqualogica, the derma co (as she said), dot and key, sotrue, bodywise, happier, earth rhythm, sunscoop, undry etc.
Also we might not have products labelled as "tinted sunscreens" with more than one shade but there are plenty bb creams with SPF ≥30 rating that can be used interchangeably and comes in 3 shades: foxtale, requil cc cream, the derma co niacinamide BB cream, renee, mamaearth, faces Canada , brwn skin tinted moisturizer etc.
@@AanamC that's what I was wondering, that makes more sense. I remember searching for a sunstick around the same month and had to get the BOJ mugwort sunstick as the derma co was barely on sale and minimalist didn't cater to oily skin types.
In my teens Id get zits after washing my face. I rarely wash my face. So I'm with this guest. (Full disclosure I don't wear foundation)
Wait a second, applying sunscreen mixed with moisturizer, that I know is problematic. But then applying regular moisturizer (not sunscreen moisturizer) over that before makeup, wouldn't emollients from the moisturizer remove/disturb sunscreen layer underneath?
It would, just like makeup does, it's just double the disturbance now.
@@morgianasartre6709 yeah they are probably getting no suncreen protection.
@@amirrhodesve791 I'm sure they are still getting some, just not as high, even and lasting.
I have similar skin type like her.i just found out about a month ago that my skin trhive with fermented type skincare like peptide or galactomices. I just want to share
I do no wash either....my skin have never been so good. Acne is gone
Same, my mom had us using Ivory soap, then my hg school boyfriend said he used water only in the AM, so I too adapted that ever since… + I have no acne nor pimples.
If you think thats crazy, you should see south Africas international influences in drugstores......
I also only use cleansing oil nightly to remove makeup…. I don’t use face cleansers.
That's the confusing terminology lol, cleansing oil is a face cleanser.
@@honeyyybeee569 Nobody said a facial cleanser is defined by foaming, it is still a cleansing step, we don't call it an oil cleanser for nothing, if you are not using a specifically formulated product but rather the olive oil from your kitchen then that point has more merit.
Proud #WearFam !
Just some thoughts... I don't really understand how an spf would be drying, since they're generally a moisturizer with spf. And if you have to add a stronger moisture, wouldn't it be better to first apply a stronger moisturizer, then spf on top?
Another thing that irked me is not using actives because there's no instant gratification. Some need months or years to dramatically change your skin.
To whoever is reading this keep going, you're doing fine! No matter how slow your progress, each new week is filled with tiny steps forward. Be proud of yourself you got this! ❤
The horror until she clarified 😅😂😂
❤❤❤
I only wash my face with the original dove beauty bar
I used to do that almost a decade but now i am 45 years old and my skin is so dry and i cant use dove, but its good, actually very good beauty bar ,I didn't have any problems with my skin using dove
I don’t understand. If she cleanses with oil but doesn’t wash it off, doesn’t the dirt just sit on the skin?
@@21972012145525 after reflecting more on this, she repeats that she doesn’t use a foaming cleanser. my CeraVe hydrating cleanser doesn’t foam, so I’m thinking maybe she also uses that? 🫣 it’s a mystery
Why does she need to use facial makeup like foundation?
Okay, so she CLEANSES her face every day, but she doesn't WASH her face every day with a foamy surfactant. Got it.
❤
Does she have "Normal" skin or maybe Normal to dry skin? You can get away with washing infrequently if your skin is pretty normal to dry! Oily skin, I had to wash my face every 2 to 3 hours in my early adolescence and it kept it clean and smooth! If I didn't wash it, it would break out badly! After age 16, this all went away and never came back!
I think this lady likable but I will never agree with her about sunscreen application.
I hate the brand face shop... Trashy ingredients
Himalaya has biodegradable makeup wipes... She's WRONG.. and i hate it..
Foxtale has sunscreen shades...
Her skin is not glowing , that’s just regular brown skin and her dark circles are huge . I am confused what
Is this interview.
😂😂😂 “I don’t wash my face but I do and I don’t use soap on my body but I do” what’s all this bull 💩
the thumbnail had me thinking cassandra turned racist 😭😭😭
Oh Dear 😂 I don’t agree with her.
Everything about this video is weird. I generally love Cassandra’s content.
Starting with clickbait title. This woman does double cleanse but doesn’t just use something that foams. Everything wrong about how to use sunscreen - mixing moisturizer with sunscreen, and then moisturizer on top of sunscreen.
I could go on about total video but overall never heard of this woman in my entire life or her brand. This wasn’t an educational video where I actually want to try her brand. Very weird vibes overall.
I think it’s just talking about skincare….like a podcast or something….not every video has to be educational.
@@honeyyybeee569 As someone from India, this video is somewhat borderline triggering to me. As an influencer who launches a brand, I would want to see what she wants her brand to represent, which was missing here. This felt more of a rant that brands are not available in India, India doesn't have shades, etc etc.
Maybe the word educational wasn't right. Nor any hatred towards this woman, I just don't like the way the whole video made me feel, being an Indian.
I’m cringing. This skincare is so opposite to what I know. Mixing suncream with moisturiser. Spf 60 doesnt properly exist no?
😆😆😆
Well you can change the title to make it more appropriate.Other than that Indian Beauty has started everything from Shampoo to almost everything I dont need to name so we dont need every international which only thug people in name of luxury. You can have more research for yourself before making and such content and refine it a bit more.
This thumbnail felt a little white savior vibes, condescending towards Indian beauty. Western beauty and skincare is not the end all be all
i think it was clickbait tbh, in the video she doesn’t act like that but i was very concerned… that’s why i clicked. i was like… what? i’ve followed cass for years, when did she become racist?? i haven’t watched the video all the way through but im guessing the part of indian beauty she might be criticizing is brands like fair and lovely which in my opinion is definitely ok to point out because those products and marketing promote colorism. not sure though.
Her skincare routine is not up to your mark, Cassandra 😂. I've never heard of her before.
