From my American perspective, all this seems quite wastefully ostentatious for a basic function of government. On the other hand, if we had all this ceremony surrounding the opening of our Congress, cleaning up after the horses while we endure fifteen rounds of voting for a Speaker would constitute a comprehensive jobs program.

Has anyone noticed @ 1:03:07 the complete and utter contempt shown by the M.P. on right of screen for the King and Queen of the Uninted Kingdom? Wasn't there some kind of tax scandal involving him whilst he was Chancellor of the Exchequer? Has he crossed his fingers beneath his arms? I think we should know.
Rishi Sunak brought back stability and growth to the economy. Inflation back to target of 2% and economy is gowing currently faster than any G7 nation and IMF predicts it to grow by 1.5% in 2025. So it's a pretty good inheritance that Labour are getting. Brown left the economy in a much worse state back in 2010.
Could have been a lot better if we didnât have Tories drag us out of Europe.

It's time we all get past this royal family nonsense. Let them play dress-ups in their own homes with the obsurd costumes but not subject society to this ridiculous, pompous display of insanity. It has zero place in contemporary society, except down at the local theatre.
Meh while the crown pays an effective 80% tax rate im fine with it. If we got rid of the monarchy it would likely be nationalised and sold off by the government.
