  • How to fall asleep fast? Try a guided sleep story for grownups deep sleep meditation.
    This one of my long guided sleep meditation deep sleep hypnosis bedtime stories for grownups is about someone on safari taking photographs of different animals, they then go back to the lodge and are taking a look at their photos sitting on a balcony enjoying the atmosphere before going to bed and drifting asleep into a dream about being a man with a companion wolf roaming around and seeing an early stream train arrive, deciding to get on the train to see where it goes, then going on a journey which takes them to a new land of discovery before returning and following the story back to the man in bed drifting deeply asleep following this dream...

    I've been following you for a very long time, yet never commented! You know what a great job you do with all of your work (not just sleep hypnosis), I didn't see how telling you how much I love everything that you do (yes particularly your sleep stories, as much as you dislike recording them - sorry!), and that you are by far my favourite you-tuber. Lately however, I have felt that it was past time to start positing comments in order to help promote and support you in your work.
    It seems that train stories are quite popular to make, almost a staple of one's repertoire. Because of that, it can be extremely difficult to have a unique story, and/or a unique way to portray said story. That said, you've made excellent work of it! It doesn't feel like just another train and time story by any means. You always add details that others simply don't think of. That, combined with your perfectly timed cadence, the tone of your voice, and yes - your accent contribute to a deeply relaxing experience. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, impacting people's lives with your knowledge and life experiences. You have truly made the world a better place for your presence in it!

      I would rather be focusing, as I have on my channel since 2007, on raising autism and mental health awareness and understanding and educating therapists and those who work with autistic people and those with mental health challenges. In September after almost 13 years I stopped focusing on this on my channel and just focus on healing guided sleep meditations. I may do more in the future but for now I just focus on posting 3 meditations per week and a live stream.

    On a sailboat on the ocean at night with a sky full of stars and an ocean full of bioluminescent "stars"
    Admittedly this story idea is inspired from an actual event, but it was very dreamlike even when it was actually happening.

    • @DaydreamingCrow
      @DaydreamingCrow Pƙed 5 lety +3

      The bioluminescent animals that make the water look all starry react to disturbance in the water, so every wave including the ones made by the boat have shimmering caps and trails. Sea foam glows and the boat leaves a trail that can stretch out for miles behind. If you get a bucket of seawater and stir it up with your hand the reaction follows the current you make and you'll have a sparkly hand. Dump the bucket out on deck and it's awash with stars. If dolphins show up at the bow, they'll be outlined in a pale glow and leave trails in the water.
      If you have an unbroken horizon all around and the sky has nothing but stars because it's the new moon or it has set, there's so many stars that the blackness of space looks more like a very dark grey. If you have a small telescope, you can learn that the reason space looks dark grey rather than black is because it's filled with that many stars. They are just so far away that you can't pick out individual ones, just the faintest effect of all their light blending together. Being surrounded by stars on an unbroken horizon gives a quiet feeling of being drawn upwards.

    I highly recommend that everyone listen to these stories all the way through and without falling asleep.. this is some pretty dark stuff to put into your subconscious mind. The end is about gaining the knowledge of the universe being pretending is the key to success.. the darkest and stone palace where someone is sitting on a throne who takes you to the basement! BEWARE ALL READERS

    • @DanJonesHypnosis
      @DanJonesHypnosis  Pƙed 4 lety +2

      I'm confused what you are seeing as 'pretty dark stuff'? It is a positive story of discovery and companionship and sharing experiences and enjoying experiences and it is packaged in a fantasy type story that has some familiar elements mixed with events of wonder and curiosity and being grounded and enjoying everyday life as well as recognising that dreams are healing and metaphorical. This is a story, not real-life, so a character in a story being told that the knowledge of the universe is pretending and how that is the key to success, isn't literal for the listener, it is a message for the character and has things to hopefully resonate in the listener because in relationship to many problems that involve behaviour change, by doing the behaviours you encourage the thoughts, so if you act confident and smile, this subtly starts to trigger the brain to respond like you are confident and happier. It isn't always easy to do, hence putting this message in a story in a way that hopefully encourages the listener to ponder how it could have meaning to them, so that they start to 'pretend' more non-consciously, rather than through conscious effort (which is very difficult to do if you are feeling very low or depressed or you worry excessively etc). It is true that when people smile on purpose they end up reporting feeling happier, when people act confident they end up feeling more confident etc...
      As I have mentioned on other comments of yours across my various stories that you have negatively commented similar comments on, I don't see how this is negative and something for people to beware of and how any of this is dark stuff that you shouldn't have in your 'subconscious' mind?

      I have a couple story ideas for you. Would you do a story of an Alaskan dog sled cross country adventure with camping scene, appearance of the great northern lights and the unusually length of night/day. I really like lots of nature descriptions using all of our senses.
      The second idea is a paddle boat river cruise of the Mississippi or Missouri River.
      Perhaps a home made raft story like Tom Sawyer/Huck Finn. Maybe incorporate living for a while on a deserted island.
      Hope to see one or more of these ideas in a story soon. Best regards.

    I love Dan's stories but am jolted from zen by the chatty intro. We all know to leave comments and subscribe, Dan! ;)

    • @DanJonesHypnosis
      @DanJonesHypnosis  Pƙed 4 lety

      I only do the intro at the beginning so it shouldn't jolt at all. I have to do the intro, it makes a huge difference. Before I did intros (I obviously didn't want to end videos saying 'like, comment, subscribe' because people should be asleep) I would get almost no comments on my stories, almost no likes on my stories and almost no-one subscribing. As soon as I added the intros to all new stories I posted there was a very large increase in people subscribing from the videos, people were suddenly leaving thumbs up and were leaving comments. For example, new subscribers on my channel in the first month went from under 100 per month to over 1000 per month, yet video views hadn't increased any where near this rate. Because more people were subscribing from the videos and there was more activity/engagement on the videos with comments and likes the videos started to get more views as engagement is something CZcams likes. So although a few people expressed annoyance that I was doing this at the beginning of my videos when other CZcamsrs do it at the end, after a few months of replying to everyone's comments explaining that I can't do it at the end because hopefully people are asleep, so the only place to do it is at the beginning, these comments stopped.
      I always point out that anyone who wants to listen without ads and without my 'like, comment, subscribe' intro can listen to all my stories on my Dan Jones Hypnosis Sleep Stories podcast which is what I have set up instead of Patreon for those who want to support my channel.
      I think it is impressive to be in a relaxed Zen state before you have started listening to the story, I would imagine the 30 second or so intro would give that little bit of extra time to get comfy and settled in bed. I listen to sleep stories and often have to restart them because they have gone straight into the story with no time between me pressing play and the story starting for me to get ready to listen, so I usually now choose stories which have a short but of something before getting into the actual story.

      It is definitely not a common thing, even for those with severe insomnia, it is uncommon if they are engaging with the meditation for them to be awake at the end of the longer (45 minute+) meditations. If you are awake then there must be some reason for this, like not being tired, not engaging with the process and following the meditation and perhaps thinking about other things instead etc, or some other reason.

    • @DanJonesHypnosis
      @DanJonesHypnosis  Pƙed 3 lety

      That's not good, I thought I had finally had this issue solved after two years of trying. Initially CZcams denied they were putting ads in the middle of my videos, then the end of last year they admitted that they had been testing the idea of midroll ads being in videos where creators have them turned off, so from my perspective on my channel they are turned off so I can't then turn them off because they already are off. Then a few days ago CZcams rolled this out officially on all videos and I woke up to a huge number of complaints about a lot of ads in my videos. I discovered that as it has been rolled out officially midroll ads were turned on in all 800+ of my videos, I went through the videos turning them off. I had hoped that as it was officially rolled out now and so the option was turned on rather than midroll ads, but not showing it as turned on and so I was actually able to turn it off again, that their testing would be over and if I turn it off ads won't show in the middle of videos just like they didn't used to show, but this is the second comment on a video in about 12 hours saying ads have been showing, which means they are showing more now than they were before despite me turning them off in all the videos again, so the setting to turn them on our off is pointless because if I have them turned on I get midroll ads but have choice over placement of them if I don't want CZcams to place them, if I have midroll ads turned off then they show but I have no choice over their placement. It is so frustrating that there is nothing I seem to be able to do about this...

    • @DanJonesHypnosis

      It is annoying that CZcams have announced they are doing this now where for over a year I was contacting them to say people were telling me they were getting ads during my videos even though I don't set ads in the videos and don't want ads in the videos.
      CZcams for over a year denied they were doing this, then a month or so ago they made a video to say they were doing this on some videos even if the creator didn't set ads to show in the videos to see if it can generate more revenue.
      The Honest Guys did a video a couple of weeks ago about the issue as it is impacting on them as well. I recommend that any time people watch my videos to see if ads are going to be playing, if it looks like they are then refresh and hopefully that will get rid of the ads, if it doesn't then watch a different video.
      Trouble is it is likely to impact on people watching my videos and it is something I can't control, they are already turned off so I can't turn them off to stop it happening.
      The other recommendation I make is to use the Dan Jones Hypnosis Sleep Stories podcast so you don't have ads, you also then don't have the introduction before stories either.
      I have considered turning on the channel subscription option so that people can subscribe to watch the videos without ads. I've not done this yet though. This was the option The Honest Guys recommended over on their channel.
      If the ads start showing in my settings so that I can turn them off then I will go through all my videos and so that, but for now I have no option to stop what CZcams is doing.

    Dan Jones can you please do a story of bright and colorful places of love and peace with sunshine without all the darkness and the key to life being about love instead of being about pretending to love? Thanks, your voice is soothing but the story actually sounds dismal

      I have got lots of stories of things like that. The important thing is that all the stories are therapeutic to help with stress, anxiety and worry and all are positive stories, the only stories with some negative elements are some of my Dragon's stories where the Dragon's are being fought and killed. But these are rare, normally even the Dragon stories are positive where it turns out the Dragon's are good or teaching something.

      Dan Jones I have responded my thoughts and ask that you read them to see my experiences with them. The concept of (pretending) certain behaviors until your thinking changes is opposite to what we're told, faking it until you make it doesn't make people's thoughts change.. our thoughts (purposely positive) will change our behaviors on the outside. It is more beneficial to change thought patterns until your feelings and behavior begin outwardly producing confidence, happiness, peace, ECT. Our behaviors don't dictate our thoughts, but our thoughts will dictate our behavior. Telling people to"fake it until you feel it" doesn't change thought patterns, dealing with training your thought pattern is what changes behaviors. Too many people already go thru life pretending to feel something they don't and that can manifest dangerous ways until your thoughts are worked on in a healthy way. I wasn't being negative and didn't say your stories are, only that the deep meaning to life people search for is because they're tired of going through life pretending.

      Changing your behaviours does change your thinking. It isn't a panacea and there is a difference between pretending to be someone you aren't and intentionally taking the decision to be how you want to be and at first having to do this by choice even though it isn't how you feel inside. If you are someone who worries a lot for example, then pretending that you aren't and thinking about how you would think as someone who doesn't worry and so doing behaviours like problem-solving thinking and thinking like a 'happy' person where you think about what the positives are to be learned from a situation and thinking about things in a non-catastrophising way etc, are all going to start making you come to different conclusions about things and have different paths of thoughts. Being more positive around others, perhaps in work and with friends means that they respond to you differently because whenever you change one part of a system the whole system changes. If you start smiling at people and perhaps saying good morning to people, people start reciprocating and positive social interactions can increase. None of this is pretending to be someone you aren't and none of it is saying don't seek help when you need it or pretend you are fine when you aren't when people ask you or when you are having those conversations with loved ones, but about having specific times and places and finding your own balance of where to pretend.
      As someone who is autistic I have to actively pretend most of the time I am out of my house. I have to pretend to be someone interested in what others have to say, I have to pretend to understand what others are talking about, I have to pretend to be comfortable in situations where inside I want to escape, etc. This taking on a persona for these times helps me to get through those times. When I was depressed and suicidal but still had to do my job of supporting families in crisis and managing a team of staff who supported families in crisis I had to pretend while in the role of manager that I was my usual calm and confident self who was attentive and helpful for the staff, I had to pretend to be the calm and confident, assertive person with the families. I would sit in the toilet and cry and then compose myself, take on a role and carry out that role. This allowed me to feel much better and do my job better than if I had decided I wasn't going to pretend, in which case I wouldn't have been good as a manager or with the families I was supporting. In those moments, because i was taking on this confident, calm and positive thinking role I would feel more positive and would get many of my innate emotional needs met and because I was feeling more positive I would think more positively.
      It has always surprised me that it works when you ask someone a question like 'what will life be like when you no longer have that problem?' or any similar type of question and people say 'I don't know' and you just say, 'imagine if you did know, what would you answer?' and then they can give you a detailed answer to the question they couldn't answer a moment ago. Or someone who can't imagine themselves without the problem and you have them imagine someone who doesn't have that problem - even if it is someone like Superman, and they can imagine that and then you say 'now step into that person and reply that again and experience what it is like to be them' and they can do this, essentially pretending that they are the person without the problem so that they neurologically lay down the pattern for how to be the person without the problem and what they would do etc, and then they can go into their lives and do these things because they have already mentally practiced doing these things and our brain responds to vividly imagined the same as it responds to things we really do, so it ends up being like we have done this before so we can do it again.
      The way our brains work is from behaviours to emotions to thoughts, the thinking part of our brain is the most recently developed part of our brain. The thoughts can then feed into causing further emotions and behaviour change, but just trying to change thinking to change feelings and behaviours is a very difficult thing to do because you don't start having the thinking until you are already feeling the way you don't want to feel, the thoughts didn't cause that. Commonly taught theories of CBT which have you change thinking to change feelings and behaviours (I teach CBT) have it the wrong way round and are at odds with the neuroscience.
      If you smile and people are suddenly more friendly to you, you then have positive feelings and perhaps feel more of a connection with others around you, etc, this leads to you thinking that these people are more friendly and having more positive thoughts, whereas if you are miserable around people and people are avoiding you more because of it and spending time laughing and joking with each other but stopping whenever you go over to them, this can lead to not feeling connected to them, etc, and having more negative thinking perhaps thinking that no-one likes you, that they are laughing about you, etc., and this then feeds into a depressive loop of then feeling worse, narrowing your focus on the negative perception and so concluding the negative more often than the positive about your observations of others behaviours etc, and the loop goes on. So a small change of behaviour can lead to a big change of being.
      There is the story of Milton Erickson treating a woman for depression, he was only able to see her once at her home. She only ever went to church but never interacted with others, and largely stayed at home. He saw she had some well looked after African Violet plants so he told her to do cuttings of the plants and every time someone was born, married or died in the town she was to give an African Violet to them or their family. Decades later when she died she was known as the African Violet queen of Milwaukee and described as being friendly and happy etc. Her changing her behaviour led to her getting her emotional needs met etc which led to her feeling better which led to her thinking in a different way and eventually doing the behaviours not because a Doctor told her to (so pretending to be this kind, caring person who wanted to give plants to all these people), but because she wanted to do this.

      Never tried any drugs other than alcohol. I did think my best friend has finally come to his senses when he took LSD (I didn't know until the next day that he had taken the LSD and he said it was a strange experience to be trying and having me treating it like it was the most normal thing)

    I like the idea of what you are doing , but for me personally , the pauses in your delivery actually interrupt and anoy me to such a degree that I'm left feeling exasperated . But maybe that's just me and my issues . I will try other stories of yours and see what happens . Best wishes , JG

      In the old days my pauses were up to 15 minutes or so like they are in hypnotherapy sessions because people need time to get absorbed in creating what they are being asked to create. If I draw someone's attention to the sound of a running stream but I keep talking the listener doesn't have time to create that in their mind and become absorbed in it. Now my stories, like this story, have pauses on average no longer than about 3 seconds with perhaps two or three pauses that might reach 10 seconds. These pauses are no different to someone reading a story and pausing a few seconds between story sections or a bit longer when you listen to a story and there is a longer pause to denote a new chapter. If the track works the listener will likely experience time distortion making a few seconds feel much longer. There is a video demonstration of me hypnotising someone with a shock induction, then I carry on talking to them with perhaps a seconds pause, afterwards he said why did I pause for so many minutes he was getting impatient waiting for me to continue talking. I showed him the video to show I paused for a maximum of a second, not minutes, but because he was so deeply hypnotised so quickly he stretched out time...

      If you touch or click the screen in the upper right hand corner or 3.. Touch those and one of the options will be the speed. Play it faster if that makes you happy! I like the slow tempo because it reminds me to breathe slowly and deeply and it puts me in a relaxed state. Wishing you sweet dreams friend!
