i still think this is j cole's best album
This album is the 2nd best album of j cole Forest Hills drive is his best album for me
I think friday night lights and the warm up are his two master pieces
Forest hill drive comes first then this it was a perfect album
@@OnlyHoops15 I really hope they consider those as albums, not mixtape, Friday night lights the best for me
i agree!! it’s also my fav too!!
WE'RE CRYING WITH THIS ONE🗣🔥🔥🔥
🗣️🗣️🗣️
Ah yess J coles most underappreciated album.
Change is one of his best songs IMO
Fs
this gotta be more than an opinion more like a fact
The only real change comes from the inside!
I didn’t understand the j.Cole hype and would even make fun of the song “foldin clothes” until I heard it in the context of this album. Now I can’t even get through it without getting a little emotional because it’s goofy but also such a specifically beautiful sentiment. Just all around great album
Definitely one of my favourite songs on the album.
I told her, "Nina," the prettiest name that I could think of 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I might be reaching but I think that line is an easter egg or ties into the line on immortal where he says "The strangest fruit that you'll ever see", which also a NINA Simone reference.
They'll never give Cole his flowers until he's gone! This album was a beautiful masterpiece. 👑💯💐
Oh let's fucking go. Came here expecting Take Care, I didn't think we'd get this so soon. Just have to mention, best editing in the reaction game. For real, damn near seamless, you get all the perfect moments.
Love this album but the story/narrative aspect has always been a point of confusion for me. I've never seen anybody give a perfect explanation for which perspective J. Cole is speaking from in each track. At first I thought it was just sloppy storytelling, then I thought the perspective switched from James MacMillan Jr to J. Cole in the song "Change" which would just be perfect except for the song "She's Mine Pt. 2". J. Cole doesn't have a daughter, apparently. The idea that the first half of the album is from James Macmillan's perspective (loosely mirroring J. Cole's life and mentality) then switching to J. Cole after James dies at the end of "Change," with J. Cole carrying on and escaping the cycle (loosely mirroring the life James could have lived after finding love and a new hope) was just too perfect, I guess. There are no overt references to J. Cole's life/music until "Change", if I remember correctly. But James was apparently alive for the birth of his daughter in the final track.
Now, though, I see it as a sort of blend of their perspectives. The uncertainty of which perspective is whose, except for when it's obvious, could mean that it represents both of them. "Change" could still represent a shift in the dominant perspective. One thing is for sure though, this album is J. Cole mirroring and merging himself with the story and life of "James Macmillan Jr." while deeply humanizing and exemplifying the common black man stuck in a cycle of violence and poverty. This album does not get enough love, and does not get the dissection it deserves, in my opinion. I think that's partially due to Cole's reputation of being "fake deep" as well as the comparisons to TPAB.
Or it's just sloppy storytelling. Until Cole has a daughter.
P.S. FNL next? Love and peace.
Edit: Molly pointing out the two opposing voices at the end of Change was A1. Never put that together.
Edit 2: Wrote this before I heard the final thoughts. Y'all are frfr insightful.
I appreciate you, as far as I can tell, not giving up the twist. Every reaction I’ve seen has the reactor being told the twist before listening, or reading the Genius notes, or whatever.
Edit: nvm I hate the commenters
apparently someone spoiled it for her in the comments section anyway :/
@@erickrcxo6363We gotta abolish the comment system
@erickrcxo6363 yhhhhhh, that was kinda me😂. But I was just saying that a few of the songs were from the perspective of his friend that passed.
@@DemetruisMiller dont worry. someone else had commented about it months ago. molly showed it to me lol. she really enjoyed the album regardless so it's not a big deal
@@f11.studios you should listen to BIG Krit 4eva is a mighty long time album is just as gold
I remember this was my first rap album that i followed the rollout on and listened the minute it dropped. Being able to listen without context beforehand was like watching a classic movie in real time. I remember tearing up in my bedroom. Personally have no experiences to directly relate to the story told but J Cole still hit me with his story telling ability. Love seeing other people discover this album within these 8 years since!!!!
The title track is one of my favourite songs of all time! ❤️
As time goes on I really think this is J.Cole's masterpiece
this album cemented cole as one of the greatest ever for me
i see Cole’s best work, i click indeed
J cole as in Jermaine cole?!!
"The real is back, the ville is back. Flow bananas, here, peel this back" COLE ?
Been manifesting another J.Cole album reaction, and here it is!
One of Cole’s best. IMO this is Cole’s TPAB if we’re going comparisons
I recall listening to this when it came out being amazed. Then revisited recently (since becoming a father) and I was blown away. The whole album hurts in the most meaningful ways. She’s mine pt2 had me absolutely balling my eyes out lol
J Cole is the only artist that I can argue is on Kendrick’s level.
@@StayBlessed47 I agree! I think they each have their seasons where whatever one drops is gold. But that top spot is interchangeable between just them two
@@Droski_Rodriguez19 whoa whoa whoa. That top spot belongs to Kendrick without a shadow of a doubt. Respectfully. lol but yes I won’t argue cause it’s a valid take .
an artist i highly recommend you listen to is Dave a uk rapper guys a lyrical genius
i back this, would love to see little simz on the channel too
psychodrama is a must
I love watching these reactions of people who aren’t too familiar with rap to see that there is a lot more than drugs, money, and sex to be rapped about.
I’d love to see some old school rap get reacted to. Particularly the giants of the 90’s Tupac and Notorious B.I.G. (Biggie Smalls). My favorites by Tupac being Me Against The World and Strictly For My N.I.G.G.A.Z… And then Biggie’s Ready To Die and his posthumous album Life After Death. Love the videos, keep em coming!
Literally requested this yesterday! You guys are the best.
This album brings me to tears fr. What a masterpiece. Glad you guys reacted to this! 🖤
The quality of these reviews/reactions is insane. Y'all do such as good job with the editing, atmosphere and give insightful opinions literally all the time and even if you dont like a song you can recognise good things about it. This is why im subbed bruh on god
Keep listening to Jcole he got more beautiful albums (born sinner, off season...)
Born sinner is actually one of my favorite albums
They already did the born sinner I think

So excited for this one, one of my fav albums of all time it’s got everything, got bangers, feel good songs and deep tracks it’s amazing
Dropped everything once I saw the notification💙
I remember first listening to this after coming back from college. I had a rough first year and had to come back home I went to college around the same time Cole did. I came from a very low income part of Chicago. Some days I didn’t have anything to eat. Had friends and elementary school people that were dying from gun violence or drugs. I played this album and cried. I almost felt like this album spoke to me in ways I needed to at that time. I made it out of all of that and had a future I just had to retake control. I remember listening to this in my room and ended up in tears at the end. I related to this album heavy and sonically it was a masterpiece. This album solidified Cole as one the greatest of all time and as much as I feel like a lot of people slept on this album. I also feel this album should have won him a Pulitzer.
we'll never say it enough; thanks a lot for all the amazing work that you put on your videos
we appreciate that bro 🙏🏼
Just discovered this channel yesterday and I love it ! Love from Paris 🇫🇷
merci frérot! 🙏🏼
Been waiting on this one!!
LETS GOOOOO MORE J COLE PLEASE 🕺🏽🕺🏽
you guys earned a true sub, big love
Great Reaction Guys, Keep Up The Good Work!🤙🏾
J coles most underrated album. I remember when it came out and my friends trashed it cuz it didnt have any "bangers" except for Neighbors. Its an album that deserves to be listened in order
I didn't get around to listening to it until later that night in bed with headphones. That ending made me tear up as well
You two are the best reactors on youtube 💫
Thank you a greatly for the reaction to an amazing album
“It sounded like something you make pancakes to” 😂😂
LETS GOOOOOOOOO got my food time to watch this
Great reaction great video great album. What a treat 🎉❤
I’m from NC so Cole has always been huge for me! I’m glad y’all reacted to this album it’s so good! And it’s pronounced fay•ette•ville :)
I think if I recall correctly, with the songs neighbours he was actually in his old house at Forrest hills, which he had people come visit. The music video is the siege by swat.
Incredible album. Production and rapping and content and structure, etc etc etc etc the list goes on.
J Cole has given us many great projects, but this one really is special and I love how conceptual it is (story driven as a whole).
Criminally underrated album. Slowly crept up to becoming my favourite project of his (although I tend to listen to 2014 and Off Season more)
Top tier music right there👏🏼
yes! more J.cole! born sinner and off season soon?
More J. Cole reactions please ❤🙏🔥
every time i hear one song off this album i gotta re-listen the whole project. Best 2016 album.
Undeniably his best album in my opinion. Storytelling was immaculate and 4yeo may be my favourite rap song oat
GOATS

She's Mine Pt. 2 is easily one of my favorite J Cole songs
my fav j cole album
I love yall ❤
lmao mollys reactions are amazing.
I knew Cole makes a lot of his own beats so they fit the message of the song well,I also just found out J Cole made the beat to Kendrick Lamar’s song hiiipower
I love how at 31:14 Molly switches to Scottish
i got Trainspotting flashbacks
this albumn help me thru some times 🙏🙏
It's it's it's mm J COLE'S BEST ALBUM 🙌
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS
Molly has gotten so great at describing music. Really love it. We making pancakes with this one!!!
4 your eyez only might be his best song ever and possibly album. Song always makes me tear up
“You know I love aesthetic nighttime vibes” her face coincided with that statement so well lol that was funny
You guys should react to the off season and/or KOD, The off season being arguably his best album if not his second best.
STILL WAITING on that Born Sinner... arguably his best work in totality
Yh shes mine pt 1 and 2, foldin clothes and obviously 4 your eyes only were the songs dedicated to his friend that passed. I had to listen to this album about 3 times to put all the pieces together but and I was listening to this album on my drive to college and started to tear up as I came to the full realization of the story of his friend. In my opinion this is the best album J Cole has produced and even though this has alot of profanity I allowed my lil sis yo listen to this with me and i was explaining everything to her and she even started crying😅. But yh, I loved this album and loved that you guys reacted to it. And also sorry for kinda spoiling it for you Molly😂
one of the most underrated hip hop projects ever
This album might be his best album
We need the UTOPIA video reaction!
Definitely Jcoles best album...... what you NEED to do is watch the documentary that came with this. its an HBO doc.....fire
His magnum opus. this album is a corner stone in modern rap
This is my Super Bowl
