    After 9 Years, I finally return to the incredible Paria River Canyon in the Vermillion Cliffs National Monument of Utah/Arizona. The Paria River Canyon is a remote desert canyon that's also known for being the exit for the popular Buckskin Gulch. We entered the canyon at White House Trailhead and exited at Lee's Ferry. This trip requires permits and WAG bags for all human and dog waste.

    I have the same stove, I think, and you can avoid long flareups when starting it by being careful about how much fuel you let collect in the pan as the stove piping heats up. If you manage it correctly you can get things going quickly with less fuel lost and less risk of catching your face on fire.

    I’m very excited either way everything Insta360 is doing. The Ace Pro, x3 and the Go 3 are just amazing small devices for treks made perfect for this. I’m excited to have the money to upgrade my gear for my future hiking and camping videos.
    The audio from the Ace Pro is really really good! What a vast weight reduction in camera gear compared to what is normally brought to produce these videos.

    • @BackcountryExposure
      @BackcountryExposure  Před 3 měsíci +2

      Yeah it's really great. When it's windy the camera doesn't do well, so I need to figure out some kind of muff to go over the mic. But the audio in this video is straight from the camera, no additional mic or post adjustments. You'll see in an upcoming video the downside of the camera in the wind though.

      From what I know, Brigham is still in development stages of the tent. This was an opportunity for me to use it for 6 consecutive nights and give my feedback from my experience on any changes I think ought to be made. It's going to be a really great tent once it's in final production. I have zero clue on the timeline for it though.
      If you can't wait, the Dipole 1 Li is absolutely worth looking into as an option.

    • @lcdrjsmasterson
      @lcdrjsmasterson Před 3 měsíci

      @@BackcountryExposure ... Thanks for getting back to me. I'm in no rush, I won't need the tent until February, 2025. I already have a Lunar Solo and a Lightheart Gear Firefly that are great solo shelters. You should check the Firefly or SoLong 6 out, they're awesome, unique tents. I'm going to be using the tent for a long bikepacking trip next year, so I'm wanting something that doesn't absorb water, is as light as possible and has a small footprint. I dig the DiPole 1 Li, but I don't want to spend so much money on another DCF shelter. I have a X-Mid 2 Pro and would probably go with the simplicity of the X-Mid 1 Pro over the DiPole 1 Li if I wanted a DCF 1 person tent. I'm betting that there will be an Ultra TnT version of the Dipole 1 soon, but like I said I'm very brand loyal to OV. If that OV tent is going made of Ultra, then that's probably what I'll go with. Again, thanks for getting back to me - I don't follow many channels on YT that "review" gear, but you and Justin have earned my trust. BTW, that hike looked incredible - my wife is bugging me to get permits, LOL.

    That was a really awesome hike. Now I want to do backpacking here. You did a fantastic job of showing off that camera. I know CZcamsrs do this type of sponsorship, but I thought it was totally justified. Question: for this trip, what did you take battery wise? Both for the camera and your phone. How much battery capacity (I’m think battery pack?) do you need for a trek like this? -Chris🚙⛰️

      Thank you! I am genuinely impressed with the capabilities of that little camera.
      So, I carried three battery banks on this trip. With it being 6 days, I needed to ensure that I could keep my phone charged and Zoleo in the event SOS was needed. But also, the camera eats a lot of battery in star lapse mode when you run for 5+ hours. So I have 35,000mh of battery bank power available for the 6 days and it worked out perfect. I have two batteries for the Ace Pro.
