    Whether one can earn $1k , 3k or $5k or more as grab food person can simply be explained as follows :
    Even at low wage, if it's a job allowing unlimited OT overtime, of course hitting a decent salary is possible. It's like if I pay you a low fee of $5 per order collect and deliver, and you use the whole day to do it, of course you can earn $5-7k. But it's at a unhealthy length of working hours per day for each month. Toilet cleaners if allowed unlimited OT also can easily earn $5k to 7k

    • @AxeandYung
      @AxeandYung  Před 3 lety +2

      That is absolutely right. Working a grab is for active income, the income level depends on how many hours you input. Hence, there is definitely a limit, we only have 24 hours a day. We are only encouraging people to do it for a little extra money, for long term, it is better to work on something that can generate some passive income.

      @@AxeandYung Well said. Many full timers tell me they work from 7am till 9pm or midnight to clock 30-40 jobs a day. This allows them to reach their target earning level around 5-6k. Another reason why they slogging this way is the Incentive scheme requiring them to reach a high number of orders delivered before being given Incentive rewards. One Delivery Co used to pay per trip higher than now in effect like the incentive is not held back but I corporate into the per trip fare. Nowadays, at least one delivery Co, I won't say which one lest I be sued bankrupt, kind of Holds back or Retains a certain amount like $1 till rider has done a certain number of trips and call it a incentive. It is why riders need a representative to speak up for them. In other countries they have Unions. In Singapore, it may be regarded as Political to have unions and Singaporeans well trained since you to stay clear from politics. Some they eat themselves. They mumble their grievances in their sleep. Eat themselves alive

    People should really do tip delivery people(riders/walker/scooter).
    1 of my orders were from a grabfood walker. I notices the app navigation that the walker 'cheated a bit' by taking a bus. In the end,i just tip the person as it probably tiring & from Lot 1(CCK) to my house,it took an average of 7mins to walk.

    So delivery workers not paid even minimum wage. Time to go pre-booking which helps to solve delays and all those booking for asap delivery should be charged a 5 sgd premium that should be paid to delivery workers (delays should also be compensated with 25 cents per min by restaurant). Sad that grab, deliveroo and foodpanda leeching on em.

    • @AxeandYung
      @AxeandYung  Před 3 lety +1

      You may be right. To earn more have to working longer hour, yet the earnings is not fixed. Sometimes there is easy-to-hit incentive scheme, sometimes there may be no job for delivery

      @yuenjiajun2164 Před 3 lety +1

      Delivery platform workers are considered as SEPs (Self-Employed Persons) and share the same category with Freelancers. Therefore there is no minimum wage but tipping is encouraged in some platforms, especially the major players (Grab, Deliveroo and FoodPanda).
      Walkers will not earn as much as riders because of the limited range they are allocated to get to within 15-20 minutes of travel, thus lesser orders and lesser commission for Grab. Cyclists can go for longer rides and hit as much as 3km within 15-20 minutes and their gear are designed to hold more items, therefore more commission and better rates per order.

    Why not compare who earns more over a few years for Cyclist vs Motorcycle riders accounting for the COE ?
    *Only Singapore have COE!*
    If ride a motorcycle you are paying for the COE where only Singapore vehicles get to enjoy . No other country food delivery guys riding motorcycles or cars need to pay COE. It's such an honor! Hidden costs most never realise!!
    Let's say COE is $8k. If you earn $4k per mth doing grab, hey , you only need to spend two months of your income on COE. Compare that with cyclists who can easily do as many orders as Motorcycle delivery guys. Just no summons, coe, parking, maintenance, petrol, engine and brake oils, gear box oil, tyres, brake pads, annual road tax, inspection fee, insurance and other costs. Pray you don't need a repair.

    • @AxeandYung
      @AxeandYung  Před 3 lety +1

      It depends. If you prefer a much shorter delivery distance in exchange for a lower earning rate, then stick to walker cyclist hybrid. The earnings are half of grab cyclist cz of the gems cyclist are rewarded and generally cyclist do get more jobs. However, I do understand some that want to relax while doing grabfood deliveries and wouldn’t mind the lower earning rate of grabwalkers for a much more relaxed workflow. As long as you’re enjoying yourself, all is good man :)

    Tips given via apps to riders is a questionable area.
    1. How does customer know for sure the tips is received by riders?
    2. How does riders know customer gave tips?
    Do not be mistaken. I am not suggesting anyone took the money , some of the money sometime, or whatever. It's a valid question unless you can debunk it. And I am not saying riders never receive tips shown in their apps.
    I suggest tips be given in cash or in kind

    • @AxeandYung

      Hi Dave, no worries. It's all stated in the app. I know which customer gave me the tips because our Grab Driver app does show that we got tips from which order. The best thing is, Grab does not take a single cent of our tips. 100% goes to the riders. Thank you for tipping! It really does make a difference to the riders! :) Saying on behalf of most riders out there

    • @AxeandYung
      @AxeandYung  Před 3 lety

      We are not programmer that understand fully how the app works. Surely this can be answered by the company itself when someone is keen to know and make enquiry, to trust it 100% or not it depends on individual.
      Do you have any suggestion about this?

      @@AxeandYung Good to hear your fair response. Sometimes, we may not yet have a solution but pointing it out to let more be aware of different perspectives benefits many people Vs if not voicing up at all. This is a first step towards a solution Vs not starting at all. There is no UNION for these who trade their lives, many unknowingly, with a few dollars of income per order.
      In any society, there will exist mostly who are more ignorant. This is why it's important to talk about issues and to say that if you don't have the ultimate solution, you have no right to voice it up.
      The issues I raised are technically possible issues or abuses.
