This is such a refreshing song. With companies all trying to create their version of Black Pink’s formula for success, girl group’s have run the girl crush concept(which used to be more rare and exciting to hear) deep into the ground. It’s nice to see a more elegant concept similar to Gfriend and Lovelyz making a return to prominence. Hopefully we get a more varied range of concepts from girl groups this year.

I'm more than happy to FINALLY listen to some songs from this genre that has been unfairly "deleted" from the K-Pop scenes since 2016/2017! Only a few groups made it like Gfriend, Loona 1/3, WJSN or Oh My Girl, and now I hope ILY:1 will continue bringing this type of music back on the scenes!

There are fans who've been waiting for the revival of the ethereal/symphonic concept (vintage gfriend). This sounds like if Unicorn (Utopia) from Girls Planet was a real group. I was actually hopeful they'd go in this direction with kep1er. Is Azalea the debut title track of Ily?

Dare I say this kind of beat and sound is 3rd gen girl groups' iconic sound. Every generation has its own melody that runs through out its time, and I think this is it.
