There is so much into making candles. Im still doing a lot of research. I appreciate all of your videos and emails! I think the temperature of the wax and when to mix the fragrance oil is my issue.

I agree! I use coco apricot wax and for the longest it was a great deal of trial and error on temps and when to add fragrance. Cold throw was difficult but found my sweet spot at 205 degrees and I don’t play about it now lol
Also I know it’s not candle related but I would love a video about some of us who have small business how you edit, put together your videos. Like what software do you edit with, what tools you use: camera, lighting, etc and what’s worth investing in as beginners. And how did you balance creating videos on top of managing the responsibility of your business Would love that! 💜

Couldn't agree more! Wax temperature accounts for so many things, but the two I've found are is it helps with consistence of the candle scent and sink holes. I can't tell you how many times I've had to get my heat gun and fix a candle because I poured it at a temperature above or below the recommended level and having to waste valuable time fixing sink holes! Thanks for the video and again, couldn't agree more!

For me it's definitely temperature. My first trial waxes I'd pour into jars that were super cold since it was a cold season in my country. Then immediately after pouring it starts to solidify then form airholes at the sides.. now I know to heat up pitchers and jars before pouring

This is exactly what I needed to hear because I just started testing with soy 10 wax and at 1st was afraid to be working with such high temperatures. I made my 1st six candles and was so worried because my temperature dropped quick when I poured it into my pouring pitcher. But it worked out kind of fine minus the jar adhesion issues on some of them. Now watching this video, I know what I did wrong the 1st go around and can correct it in my next batch. So I thank you Erica for this video. And fingers cross my 2nd batch works out better than my 1st 😊

For me, adding bees was into my candles improved my HT and the final look of my candles, i dont need to reheat the surface , no sink holes, no wet spots. I find it also easier to duplicate the results too. But I have to of course take it out in case I had a vegan customer. It's all about experimenting and finding the perfect percentage. Back in 2010-2012, curing was said to take up to a week. I didn't have a bad experience when I only cured for 5 days. I'm not sure when companies started suggesting up to 14 days.

This video could not have come out (for me) at the most opportune time. We moved the testing phase over to my house...for various reasons. The first batch I made myself I ran dead head into this issue, freaked out and had to move the pitcher into pot of boiling water to bring the pot temperature back up to 190 (that's what I have been trying to pour FO at). I have found that even with the crock pot temp at 195, going into the pouring pitcher you literally lose 15 degrees in a matter of 15 to 20 seconds as you are trying to get your oz ratio right. So, here are my three questions for you:
    1) If I pour the fragrance into the pitcher and notice the temp is at 178....will reheating the pitcher back up to 190 affect the composition? I wouldn't think so as its being added around that temp anyways in the first place.
    2) I am using Golden 464....are you comfortable at heating that up to 200 safely? I was hugging th 198 mark to widen the gap of temperature loss. I can't find anything on the specs to say there is a max temp to stay away from but I think I remember reading that around 205 is the max.
    3) How are you heating up your pot before you fill it with wax? Great video by the way. Very impressed by your channel and knowledge.
