You'd be surprised what we can do in a truck!!
And yes, we have great seats even on the cheap side! A good truck owner or company that cares about their drivers will buy the top of the line seats with a back vibrator, heated and cooled, lumbar support both high and low, and of course air ride that's like floating on air on a dirt bombed out road!
You know you can buy one for your RV! Add an air compressor (for you an electric) and you'll love the difference in your ride and your body!
I even take my 30 minute break taking a nap in my seat!
Now, about your foot falling into numbness.
Use that cruise control as much as you can as not only does it give your foot a break but your fuel mileage goes up!
I live on it in both my tractor trailer and in my pickup truck and when I have one a car! I drive a 4x4 so the difference of being off it is noticable!
My trip from Missouri to Phoenix , I averaged 14.8 on cruise and 14.3 off in my 4x4!!
Go to a truck dealer and look at the seats they have in the store and sit in one or ask a trucker. You'll want to buy one right then and there!
    Blue Sky's and Safe Journeys!

5:15 part of the reason for the odd order and making you wait has to do with balance. The loadmaster has to have the weight of the vehicles evenly distributed from port to starboard and stern to bow. If it's not perfect, youre gonna have a bad time.

Great, Eric! I did that same ferry and stayed in that campground and on the beach in my little van last winter. Brings back memories. Like you, I was so thrilled to be on the beach by myself. (Childlike enthusiasm is my wheelhouse too.) Met a guy in his 80’s who comes every year to fish. He stayed in a tent!

Love hill country. We're fm Aus, H.S. + UT grads, but currently live in CA. Youngest moved back to Aus with her family, but we visit every chance we get & use any excuse to visit family fm Panhandle to Dallas to HOU to SA & back to AUS. Dau said they've gotten rain--near Lk Travis. But know how dry it can get in hill country, like here in CA where no rain entire mo of Feb. So hope you get Mar & Apr showers to fill the cisterns, & for bluebonnets, & sunsets that are unbelievable.

My wife and I met you at your first trip to Padre. The beach was soft that day. It was really neat to meet a CZcamsr in person. You were friendly, yet somewhat shy. If you are still in the area, try the beach on Mustang Island just north of North Padre. Turn right at the light by Good and Crisp Chicken. Port Aransas has a fantastic, well maintained beach with a free beach area at milepost 52-58 about 2 miles south of the beach access at the golf course road (right at the golf course, right on the beach). Port A is a great little town with a bunch of great places to eat. Spring Break is March 9-13, Texas Week...March 16 -20, other schools. Safe travels and congrats on your weight loss program. I have been there and know what it takes.

Up in British Columbia, we rode the Balfour / Kootenay Bay ferry. It's a 45 minute crossing and as such is the longest free ferry in North America. We once waited the designated 2 hours for the ferry across Mobile Bay at the tip where Fort Morgan crosses over to Dauphin Island. As it turned out, there were mechanical issues with the ferry's transmission so it didn't arrive for 3 hours. Then at that point they cancelled all the ferries for the day and the resulting drive back all the way around Mobile Bay added and additional 100 miles to the day's route. Being an RV traveler will teach you patience or it will kill you :-) On a side note, keep giving us gas prices if you can. I've read that there is an oil surplus due to the coronovirus negating most air travel overseas and China's 30% consumption has been reduced significantly. I've read that gas prices will continue to fall into summer (when it normal is rising) !

Only a throwaway drone though. The same fine sediment that darkens the water also flies through the air in windy conditions. Padre island's beach sand murders devices that depend on delicate & precise moving parts

A couple of things to do on beach sand before parking for the night is go back and forth a few times in the same spot to really back the sand tight then park and when you go to leave NEVER turn the front wheels when sitting still, make sure you are moving along before turning.

Not that anyone's cruising any time soon but just to let you know ferry's and cruise ships are a little different from each other. Being in the travel industry and having been on several cruises you dont quite feel as much as the ships are larger. The smaller the vessel the more waves you will feel. Not saying there isn't any felt on cruise ships but you may handle it a tad differently is all 💕 I've been there as a kid (Padre Island) I miss the ocean. Thank you for sharing and I sent a few messages to ya in Instagram. Hugs to you & Jax.

It's amazing how far you have come from the early days. Have you ever tried cooking with a Crock Pot? They do not use a lot of amps on the low setting (about 6.5 I believe) and the results are second to none. Check out Foresty Forest on CZcams. Have fun on Padre Island and hope the sun came out for you and Jax. Happy Trails!

You can only drive for 11 hours and you have to stop for ten hours. The rest of time is for fuel and pit stops. The seats can be customized and be luxury or standard. When I got tried of sitting I crawled on the bottom bunk.

Been across that ferry hundreds of times. They can run 4 ferries, and they usually run all 4 on weekends every 20 minutes. That lighthouse has some great history. It saved the lives of 125 people during the hurricane of 1900. To the right when you were docking is Seawolf Park. You can go inside a submarine and a destroyer escort. RV's welcome.

The ferry has 2 separate priority lanes other than the normal ones. The far left lane is for ambulances, police cars and school busses. The far right lane is for people who own homes down on Bolivar Peninsula (pronounced Bah lee var) They have decals on their windshield to bypass the traffic. The ferry wait can be over 2 hours on weekends, worse on holidays. Never understood why, but kids from Crystal Beach to the ferry landing go to school in Galveston. From Crystal beach back the other way, the kids go to High Island school district.
