- Hello and welcome back to another exciting episode of Quirk Analysis 101, the series where I give you a detailed rundown on the quirks in Kohei Horikoshi's world of My Hero Academia or as it's also known as Boku No Hero Academia. In the last episode, I discussed, Tired Eyes, Purple-haired cult leader edgy simp magnet himself Hitoshi Shinsoand his quirk Brainwashing! In today's video, I'll be breaking down everything you need to know about the quirk that belongs to my hero's very own bird guy, cluck-cluck the darkness is my domain motherf**k, Fumikage Tokoyami! He already will be he's not really underrated his quirks weakness can be solved easily
He's already in the front lines and showing way more potential than the rest of the class in late chapters.

Dude Tokoyami is sooooo freakin cool and amazing! When I 1st saw him I was like 'oh my gosh that's totally my fav' and obviously he's potential is HUGE, even though we can see why Deku Shoto and Bakugo will take top 3,Tokoyami definitely comes to mind next, no wonder as an underground hero he's on top, like we can easily imagine at some point he'll gain control over dark shadow completely, and maintain his ultimate Ragnarok form, just imagine how cool and scary it will be, it'll be unstoppable, also we can imagine at day time as a pro hero, reading a book at a coffee shop and dark shadow capturing a villain 2 miles away haha..... Really I look forward to him, even though he's so underrated I'm sure those of us who has found a liking to him can see his true potential. Also Tokoyami and dark shadow reminds me SO much of Akutagawa and Rashomon from Bungo Stray Dogs, same way Rashomon acts as a seperate entity, even though it doesn't have any emotion or personality of it's own, but still you can see why they are so similar, Aku can also rap Rashomon around his body like a suit for his ultimate move(damn boy is op UwU) but yeah both these guys are freakin cool!
So basically there are 21 students in class 1a and tokoyami and dark shadow are really like venom and Eddie brock badass what would you choose dark shadow or venom they're both badass
Ohh good question. But id choose venom. That healing factor is nice to have aswell as the super endurance.
the creator of mha does love marvel I believe so and was inspired by some characters when making the show. if my memory serves me right venom and Eddie brock inspired tokoyami and dark shadow

To answer OP though, I'd rather take dark shadow as I'd prefer to be more of a ranged fighter. The healing factor is nice and I think venom is stronger but the "darkness" factor appeals to my inner chunibyo lol

Honestly instead of going into the cave during the "training camp arc" i think a better use of his time would have been to train his "weakness to light" rather then trying "control the darkness" after all if KH taught me anything its that "darkness cannot be controlled it can only be channeled."
Odds are he isn't going to be fighting at night 9/10 anyways so making dark shadow stronger in the light would have been better that way fire/light users like bakugo and totaroki can't exploit it.

I have a feeling Tokoyami's quirk is not actually sentient. Its like a split personality of him that he hates so it manifested to feed on darkness and his negative emotions.

If I could recommend a student, this series clearly favors Class A. Monoma seems ready to crash the party with his Copy Quirk. Plus with the Anime featuring class 1B now's the best time to cover them.

IMO Tokayomi should just specialise to be a hero in the night (like Batman) fully utilising his darkness abilities. While yes he should also try to compensate for his weakness, he does not need to be good at everything. Plus he needs support items and even ranged weapons so he can stay in the back and deal damage/provide support as needed. He Would be a pretty strong and versatile hero.

I think. It is somewhat amusing that there is no backstory to explain why he is so powerful like Totoroki or the weilders of One for All. He simply is powerful with any special circumstances of pageantry.
