It really bothers me to hear of any service members that are injured or killed I’m a navy veteran myself just want to say thank you to the young men and women that defend our country for very little pay if it weren’t for heroes like them we wouldn’t enjoy the freedom that we have today.
I had to back it up and watch the segment about the 13 yr old and the soldier in Vietnam. That doll he sent to her is almost identical to the one I got from a soldier in 65-66 timeframe. I was in Brownies (Girl Scouts), and we sent Christmas cards with little notes, and silly stuff like packets of Koolaid to a unit stationed in Vietnam. We all got presents in return. I remember one girl got the blueprints for a tank (not lying!), another girl got a complete outfit, and I got my doll. My mother threw out the letter and the box the doll came in, but I managed to rescue my doll, and I cherish her every day, and hope that the man who sent it to me came home in one piece and had a good life. I'm 64 now, so he would have to be in his 80s, for sure. Thank you to our Service Men and Women who have served, as well as those who are still protecting our country today.❤❤❤
