Magnificent fish
Discus have always been my favorites since the 1970s.
I only have one big Blue Diamond and an Orange Marlboro in my 75 with my Angels, saving to buy a 180g just for Discus.
If they been your favorite since the 1970's how do you only have two in the year 2021? I was born in the late 80's had fish as a kid in the 90's and just recently got back into fish keeping and just recently discovered discus and I have 5 of them so far I plan on having about 8 once I upgrade to a bigger tank in the future as they grow..
@@streetfightervsxenoverse1832 I have 5 tanks dude and I don't just raise Discus, I have Angels, Plecos, Tetras and Neocaridina shrimp..
If you read my posts you would know that I took down my tanks for several years while my house underwent major renovations and just got things set up again.
Not to mention the 800 pound gorilla, Covid., wife dying from cancer, working a job and raising 5 kids.
@@MichaelClark-uw7ex I mean when I got back into fish keeping just recently I wasn't planning on just keeping discus , But as I did more research on fresh water fish I came to find out discus are the best looking fresh water fish and come in all sorts of colors not to mention their is a huge market for them if you can breed them and sell and not alot of fish can live in discus water temperature, so I said what the heck I'll just have a tank filled with discus , And later on maybe add a saltwater tank filled with other fish that I really like that just so happen to be salt water fish only ..
@@streetfightervsxenoverse1832 Well if you can keep discus, you have the understanding to do what is necessary because Discus are not easy fish.
If you can learn to keep them well, saltwater should be no problem.
Although they are quite different, the level of knowledge needed is equivalent.
I've done both and IMO Discus are harder.

@@MichaelClark-uw7ex Thank you sir any advice and tips would be greatly appreciated because as I said I just got back into fish keeping and discus are new for me and I don't want any of my discus to die because of any mistakes , I set my water temp at 86 , and I plan to do 50 percent water changes every two weeks and I have two filters running in my discus tank with a heater set to 86 Fahrenheit and I feed them two to three times a day , That's about the extent of it..

I used to breed discus at the time there are no equipments available to filter the water. I lost a lot of money.
