I liked that they did this, if you genuinely like the band and care- you’ll go through the effort to find this.
It forces you to listen- after all, you went through the effort to get here.
You pay attention- because it was backwards, you’re curious.
It’s impact means more in my opinion.
This song, holy shit. The lyrics, the instrumentation, the vocals. Never have I ever enjoyed Joel's righteous anger as much as this song.
"They prey upon the weak," makes me want to scream along every time lol, harsh vocals rarely resonate so strongly with me

I think the reason it was released backwards was to show that once you view things from a different standpoint, you understand more. For example, say 2 people (represented by O1 and O2) are viewing this object, O1 looking downwards and O2 looking upwards:

It's reversed by default unless you edit it. It's bound to bug some people but yeah, that's how it is : ) Joel said it's intended as a sort of hidden message that you have to dig into in order to understand
Sinceramente cuándo la escuché por primera vez, me enfadé al ver que estaba totalmente del revés.
La puse en un reproductor para escucharla correctamente, y sinceramente me sigue enfadando, que pierdan la oportunidad de hacer una buena canción, para hacer una bastante mediocre, y que encima tengas que darle la vuelta para escucharla bien...
Tengan en cuenta que la gente está pagando por una canción que no podrán escuchar correctamente, y no soy ningún hater, soy un gran fan del grupo, pero esta canción me tiene disgustado, y las instrumentales de relleno también.
recuerda que son independientes y ya se que pasaron 4 años de la salida del album, pero supongo que queria salir de la zona de confort y asombrar a los fans con el sonido al reves para que le busquen el significado

I like to think of it as an encrypted message that is not perceivable like in a usual song, but with the requirement to be decoded and interpreted
