#12 San Juan de Ortega - Burgos | full étape | Camino Francés

- 12th étape of the Camino Francés from San Juan de Ortega to Burgos. As with many other étapes there are some interesting variations to choose from. Going into Burgos the way through more industrial areas is shown here (which I believe is said to be older or official but less pretty) starting at around 6:00.
All étapes/videos to Santiago de Compostela are going to be uploaded over the next days and weeks.
After many journeys on the Camino de Santiago in the past ten years, this time the focus lies on the video project. Thus not a lot of stopping and exploring during the étapes (some breaks and encounters are cut out).
COVID-19: Filmed in the summer of 2020 when Spain and the Camino including most albergues were open again for a few weeks after the first lockdown. Masks in all albergues, bars/restaurants and when crossing cities. There will likely never again be as few people on the Camino as in summer of 2020.

Al 6:01 voltare a sinistra. La strada costeggia l'aeroporto che resta a destra del cammino. Arrivati a Castanares attraversare (non seguire!) la N-120 e procedere seguendo il parco fluviale. Anche questo video è bellissimo!!!

Well I waited in anticipation to see which route you took walking in to Burgos. I’ve done all three now and, contrary to popular view, I didn’t mind this “industrial” approach. Even this brings back such powerful memories. Last time in 2019 I had a group following me as I told them I would take them in via the park.,I missed the left turn before the airport doh!
Haha a classic, when people follow but we take a wrong turn or miss one😄 Me too, I don`t mind the industrial way, I even find it interesting to really see and feel a portion of the versatile city with it`s industrial areas.
Fortunatelly I avoided this industrial area: I turned left before airport and made the route through Arlanzón river, much more beautiful (although there is an industrial area to walk too).
But your great video is good to see that I made the right choice.
You`re absolutely right, I`m hoping to film the other way in the future.

teilweise stelle ich mir jedoch vor, dass es in den großstädten etwas schwierig werden könnte, den richtigen weg zu finden 😉 und ja: ich nutze die pausetaste 🤣
Hey vielen Dank, das freut mich extrem! Ja, in den grösseren Städten gibts bei der Geschwindigkeit der Videos leider wirklich ein ziemliches Gewimmel😅
Ist es nicht! Es ist auch in den Städten gut markiert. Ich bin gerade vor 3 Tagen diese Etappe gelaufen.
Ich ging allerdings den Weg am Flughafen entlang und dann durch den schönen Park und dem Fluss entlang. Das ist meiner Meinung nach der schönere Weg, als im Film (viel Industrie). Im Video bei 6 Min. dann links abzweigen.
