Thanks Brody, for the speed you explain things. I’m 41 and just started cubing in July. The speed may seem slow for younger people but for me it’s perfect. Your explanation is simple but thorough and I learn easier from you. Plus your sense of humour is awesome!!

Ive been struggling on F2L alot, when i saw this video i clicked on it less than a nano second
I learned the cube 40 years ago when I was 16 and from memory, the best time was 54sec - I know, pretty bad! so I decided to get back into it and use CFOP - with the online timer my average is 1:45 and with using four timing points, my F2L is the issue holding back my speed (not to mention my brain is slower) - I am working through your F2L tips (awesome thankyou), but my question for you is... is cube rotation my ultimate speed impediment or is it a lack of algorithm knowledge - what would be your advice?

OOF i actually figured out most of these on my own. And can u make another one on advanced f2l like j perm released one a while ago and i didnt memo 2 or 3 of the ones he mentioned and those cases i got in my pb avg i got today. So i should have learned them it coudve been quite faster tbh.

4:10 R U2 R' separates the pair without cube rotating. In fact, R U2 R' separates ANY wrongly connected pair if the corner is in the UFR position.
Yes, but I was trying to teach beginners to always separate pairs by "cutting" them (if that makes sense) because it's the method with the most applications once you are more advanced.
BrodytheCuber It's still not correct to say "there's *no way* to separate the pair without cube rotating" though. Also, with the case at 4:10, R U2 R' seems to "cut" the pair.

lol... Sorry for being annoying! I love this video. It really helps! I just learned F2L pair insertion into the backside. But then how do you see that the pair goes into which slot without rotating??
You can memorise the colour scheme or you can do a lot of solves and that intuition will come with time

I don't understand why you *ever* need to cube rotate to separate an incorrect pair. If the edge is to the left of the corner, why not just do U F' U F ? (If edge is to the right of the corner, do U’ R U’ R as in your tutorial._ No cube rotation required. It's also helpful to say "Move the pair *in the direction of the edge*", turn the corner down, etc. Then almost no memory is required.
