Pencil drawing time lapse - 'In My Silence' by Jono Dry

  • A time lapse from the studio.
'In My Silence' is a surreal, photorealistic pencil drawing. It took eight weeks to complete.
This drawing was such a pleasure to work on; it seemed to flow so easily. We are told to constantly push ourselves, that discomfort is good, that it promotes growth. While this is true, it also creates the idea that when we are comfortable, we become stagnant. This drawing reminded me that it’s okay to seek comfort, to enjoy the process, and to return to the familiar.

That’s the BEST thing about traditional art - You. Get. DIRTY! Lol you get to feel the paper/canvas, the tools resting in your hand, their weight, the pencil shavings, the charcoal dust staining your skin, the soft powder left over from a soft pastel and the slick oil from an oil pastel. All of the textures and the smells and the sounds. I don’t care how much you pay for it or who made it, NO digital art stuff can mimic the sensuality of traditional arts. Plus, you’re not a true artist unless you get down and dirty 😎 lol

@Andrew Pingwin this is far far far above mediocre. Are you seriously going to ignore the hard work and talent that shows when you look at this drawing? And 500 dollars for a print? So what? The artist decides what their art is worth not you.

does anybody know what the second song, starting at about 6:18 is? It's just as gorgeous as this drawing, and it's driving me nuts trying to figure out what it is.
I already listened to Devotion by Skies Speak and that's not it, it's the first song in this video.
