I was raised by a single mother who NEVER got any aid from child support. It bothered her and hurt sometimes when money was tight but she handled her business. I don't know the situation completely as none of us do but she never put her means above her bank or depended on an outside dime. Now I'm not sure when he stopped child support or what she'd spend it on other than the child's need but just an example $4500 *7 is $31,500. Was anything saved????

Mario's unwillingness to take care of his duties (child care and taxes) begs the question of what he was taught growing up about ownership and responsibility. I sense, and I'm willing to be wrong, that he was spoilt as a child and adolescent because he was gifted and part of an elite church family.
As Sistah Souljah said, 'A true man never leads a trail of pain or war to his own house or to the homes of his loved ones'. This is why I use the term 'grown boy' because, unfortunately, Mario has done this.
I hope that he has become more aware and mindful over the years because his son and children need him, and the world needs creatives like him to bring joy through artistic creativity. He has too much to offer this world to allow poor financial decisions and poor decisions in general, to snuff out his light by going to jail.

The mother of his child...if men don't like the fact that the mother being taken care of coincides with the care of the child then those men need to move the children in with them and take care of the children themselves. There is more to raising a child than money.

Are you dense? 4500 was supposed to come from the father. The mom would also cover other child expenses, including her own. We don't have to have kids to understand that living with any dependent, disabled, child or old, costs more than not having one & only contributing once a month. The primary caretaker contributes DAILY! They clearly shoulder MORE ALONE! What if she fell on hard times, like almost everyone? How is she using the child support to fund her lifestyle? What lifestyle are you funding on 4500 a month when there are 2 of you who need to eat, pay rent, water, electricity, medical bills, taxes, school, child clothes & a bunch of other things? & that was just naming the most basic of necessities of any child/human. Notice I didn't mention toys, day outings/birthdays, haircuts or any other things even though a few toys, birthday cake & haircuts are important when needed? Have you ever taken full responsibility of even a pet & yourself? At the least, a dog or any living thing really

ABSOLUTELY!!! I have one child and his Dad paid child support. However, I never depended on his child support to sustain my household. First of all it wasn't that much anyway and secondly I like to handle my own business. You never know what a person is going to do until they do it...or in this case DON'T do it. Ladies, make sure you can handle your own....child support is essentially what it says...SUPPORT. Don't expect a man to totally sustain you through child support.
