I discovered this channel in 2019, so I'm relatively new. I just wanted to comment because this channel has been a very integral part of my life since my daughter began her battle with cancer. This channel reignited my love of comics, and graphic novels alike. Rediscovering my favorite heroes, and listening to you all just be yourselves (like I used to do with my friends) has been a huge help for me, emotionally. I'm always listening to and replaying comic POP! to help with my anxiety. Needless to say, things won't get better for my daughter and I, but I wanted to comment and thank you all for doing what you do. In many ways it makes all of you involved just as special as the heroes you cover! I hope to meet you all for a pic and an autograph one day!

@@benparrish672 Ben, your kind words mean more to me than I could ever convey. It is with the heaviest of heart that I will undoubtedly be losing my 10 year old daughter after a 3 year battle with pediatric cancer. She has been my superhero above anything else! I can only hope she joins her mother whom we lost in 2017 to disease as well. I thank you for also stating your feelings on comic POP as well! I feel this is one of few channels with true heart! I find the entire cast very intelligent, and integral to the flow of the show. I admittedly listen to comic POP via a wireless earbud in one of my ears whenever I go out of the house. Especially when we have done countless stays at the children's hospital pediatric cancer floor. I find it important to let the hosts of comic POP know that they have unknowingly helped me through unspeakably terrifying times that no one should ever have to face. Each member of comic POP is a familiar voice to me, and for that I am forever grateful. Take care always Ben!

I have Mindy Newell's Lois Lane miniseries, it's a kind of a subversive take down of Lois Lane and her relationships with Superman, Clark Kent and Lana Lang. It was also written as DC was burning it all down, so she was clearly given carte blanche. I wouldn't say it's great, but it's great compared to what Superman was like in the late 70s and 80s

@@krisj827 Like Betty and Veronica. I love both of them. But there's a lot going on, I think, that was being said about a woman who wouldn't allow herself to be in a relationship. She lashes out at her sister and Lana, but clearly she's critique or avoiding a critique of herself. And of course metatextualy, *we* know that this person has reached the end of her story alone.
Maybe I need to reread them, it's been a while.
Also Gray Morrow's artwork is great, Lois needs to be chic more often.

The "first female writer of Wonder Woman" issue actually got figured out for real a few years ago: Joye Hummell was Marston’s assistant on the book and after he became sick(with polio iirc)he left most of the work to her so she ghostwrote the book for several issues. Thus making her both the first female writer of Wonder Woman and the first writer to write her at all after her creator. She died last year.
